A perennial favorite at our Brewery Halloween party, this reddish amber ale is perfect for fall. Real pumpkin adds a full body and sweetness, while deep roasted malts lend a toasty finish to this subtly spiced brew.

(Bottle). Pours a deep orange-brown complexion with thick tan head. Aroma is bready with yeast and natural pumpkin. Unfortunately appearance and aroma are its best attributes. The flavor is vegetable and spices with a bitter aftertaste. Thin palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark red color, short lasting head. I can feel a roasted caramel taste and sweet pumpkin. I don’t know why some people hate it, I liked it a lot.

Mix pack. Not crazy about it. The middle turns into kind of a muddy sweet/spiced mess that sticks to your palate. I’ve had a lot of pumpkin beers like that, I think it happens because they dial back the hops. Would not drink it again.

Well carbonated. Nice deep orange but not much lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and nutmeg. Taste is sweet with nutmeg up front, with mild pumpkin coming in at the end. Pretty good overall with an approachable fall vibe.

pours dark amber with a very thin white head and no lacing. Aroma of decaying oranges, wet leaves, pumpkin an nutmeg. taste is very light with a touch of malty sweetness, some vague squash notes, damp brown sugar and various subtle warming spices. finish is mildly sweet. There’s nothing offensive here but there’s also nothing memorable.

This ale delivers a good but basic taste as one expects from Sam Adams. Consistently good, and with a surprisingly strong aroma of pumpkin and spices.

355ml bottle. Sweet pumpkin pie flavor, actually not a bad pumpkin beer dispite people hating it.

Danyel (1609) - Colorado, USA - OCT 16, 2014
Bottle. Pours orange with deep red hues, off-white head. Aroma of oumpkin, baking spices, sweet. Taste is lots of nutmeg and pumpkin, other baking spices present, medium bodied, crisp. Good.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2014 Bottle to shaker. This is the 2nd pumpkin ale I’ve rated this week. Pours ruby amber, nice but quick head, no lacing. Aroma of allspice, nutmeg, clove. Taste is very balanced with the sweetness of the malts and pumpkin levels out the bitterness of the spices. Medium bodied, medium-high carbonation, silky mouth feel. Finishes drier than expected with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pumpkin and roasted malt. Much better pumpkin beer than the first one I tried!

Reddish amber as described with a thick head and a fruity nose.Smooth entry with a lightly-carbonated, mild mouthfeel followed by a cherry, caramel, and roasted pumpkin seed finish.
