Bottle, poured a medium light head thay stayed. Lots of hazelnut on the nose followed by some light caramel. Light bitterness throughout. Medium light body. Ave carbonation. Slightly creamy texture Another solid Sam Adams offering. Another simular style that is little better than this is Roque Hazelnut brown. Well done. vyvvy (6835) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Pours dark brown with a bronze hue and large beige head. The aroma has lots of hazelnuts, heavy toast/roast malt, some coffee bitterness and moderate sweetness. Really nice and pleasing aroma. It has a medium smooth body that has a bit of roughness when the lightly sharp carbonation hits. The flavor starts with nice toasted malt, heavy hazelnut, cream and roasty bitterness. The finish has more bitterness (malt?, hops?), pepper and heavy nuttiness. Very nice. Brewbie (497) - New York, USA - SEP 16, 2012

This beer pours a rich, ruby brown color with a soft, but thick and pillow-like tan head. The nose is full of roasted malt, caramel, nuts, toffee and bread. The body is velvety smooth and very drinkable. The flavors are absolutely delicious, with a smooth and balanced character. I taste plenty of caramel malt and toffee, with hints of nuts, whiskey and rye. The finish is semi-sweet, with more notes of nuts, caramel and toffee. This is probably one of the best brown ales I’ve tasted.

Drank while shopping in whole foods. Very nutty. Reminds me of fall. Carmely brown color. Straight hazelnut flavor with a brown sugar a lite hop bite of a finish. Good times are ahead. lapalou (24) - Florida, USA - SEP 15, 2012
A poor representation of a good style. Doesn?t compare to the Rogue hazel nut brown. Light hazelnut aroma, bland upfront but smooth to drink and short finish. Nothing special...stick with the Boston lager or honey porter over drinking this Aurelius (5659) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 15, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2013 Lightly tannic, light diacetyl, toasted, lightly sweet hazelnut aroma - well done. Really good looking brew - ruby, dark brown, clingy, spotty head. Informative but bad label. Smooth, nicely roast-bitter, good nutty sweetness. Medium-to-session weight, fine grained effervescence without being fizzy. Hazel/coffee vapors in the finish. A quality beer of which the discriminating beer drinker could consume bathtub-like quantities. Bottle. Very similar to the hazelnut longshot from ’96. Loved that one and love this one. Wish I could buy this in a six pack. Deep brown color. Yes, it had a slight hazelnut aroma but had better hazelnut taste. Love it. TheEstimator (27) - Maryland, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Nice rich brownish red hue; aromas detected include caramel; especially, after warming up a bit. Decent hops detected in finish. Fairly light mouthfeel but really quite pleasant! Nice fall warmer!
