This was in a six pack of Noble Pils that I bought. Apparently someone really wanted a single Noble and put this one in it’s place. So, Surprise Rating! Thanks, Food City guy who is kind of a jerk! Anyway, smells nice enough - Hazelnut, toffee and caramel, plus some coffee. Flavor is kind of a roasted pecan, hazelnut, some coffee and a dryish, woody finish. Now I don’t have buy the Fall mix pack. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - SEP 13, 2012
Pours a clear darkish brown color with a big frothy white head that lingers a long time. Aroma has a very big hazelnut smell to go along with a bit of caramel and soap. Taste is a little sweet and very nutty. Some spicy hops come through a bit too. Pretty smooth with moderate carbonation. Medium body. This beer does make me think of autumn. Not very complex and a bit watered down but a decent nutty brown that goes down smooth. TomTron (455) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Pours a clear copper with a thin white head that stays. Aromas of milk chocolate and caramel. Taste has a good amount of sweet caramel lingering with some hops coming through in the back end. A bit of a watery finish but overall not bad, just nothing memorable here. Butters (4063) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Pours a clear dark brown with ring of khaki head. Nose is astoundingly good toffee and hazelnut creamer. Flavor is even more so. also with hints of cocoa that leaves the overall impression on the taste buds as ’tootsie roll’ but in the best possible way. Not fake or syrupy. Very nice. But definitely smells better than it tastes. Kinda the way creme brule is. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Clear mahogany appearance with a large, thick tan head and good lacing. Nutty, caramel malt aroma paired with chocolate. Taste did not stray far from what the aroma promised, although the aftertaste was a little earthier. Hops stayed well hidden. Kept thinking ’carbonated YooHoo’.

Intense aroma of hazelnuts, butter, toffee, Werther’s Originals candies. Very nutty flavor, toasty, Frangelico, surprisingly not overly sweet (for a Sam Adams), crisp and dry finish with lingering toasty nuttiness. Tastes fresh and bright despite the deep flavor profile. A slight artificial feel keeps it below a "4", but great balance and depth none the less. odinstyr (818) - Hamilton, New Jersey, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Pours a clear brown with a small tan head. Smells of toffee, hazelnuts, caramel, grass. Taste is mildly sweet and bitter - note of hazelnuts, malt. A bit of hops bite, but not strongly. Leafs93 (2332) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is hazelnut, caramel and a hunt of roast. Taste is sweet with light spiciness. Medium bodied with some stickiness. Goes well with the fall weather. mikemccarthy (91) - Huntington, West Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2012
Pours a deep, transparent brown with a thick, frothy head that stays. Strong, hazelnut aroma. Full but effervescent mouthfeel. Taste is a little heavy on the hazelnut - almost as syrupy as San Adams Chocolate bock in recent years. A little sweet. Not quite as good as the Rogue Hazelnut Brown, but a decent beer.

a bit exactly like founder frangelic mountain brown but with but less hazelnut flavoring. Again, good beer, nothing offensive
