COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This flavorful dark brown ale has a distinct hazelnut aroma and taste. Slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes accentuate the pleasant roasted hazelnut character. This medium-bodied brew finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops.

Draft at ebp. Pours a murky dark brown with a dense and sudsy light tan head. Lots of sheety lace. Big tangy nose of aluminum and overripe dates. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Flattish mid palate with butterscotch, aluminum, and overripe tree fruit. Tangy finish.

12 oz. bottle from Fall 12 pack. Used a Sam Adams perfect pint glass. Typical medium brown color with real thin head. Normal amount of carbonation. Light hazel nut and light chocolate. Taste is above average with lingering hints of Hazelnut coffee, vanilla and toffee. Not overly sweet and balanced nicely. Body is on the lighter side of medium. Nicely done and I wanted another so... it drinks pretty well for me.

Bottled. Poured clear, medium reddish-brown with a tall, creamy off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet hazelnuts, bready notes, and toffee with light, fresh earth and vanilla around.. nice. The flavor found more hazelnuts plus caramel, vanilla, and biscuity malts at the core.. dry earthy bitterness and more vanilla around.. went back to the hazelnuts on the finish. Light-medium bodied and scratchy on the palate.. a bit watery on the middle.. overall a decent drinker, but not much more.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle at home. Pours a dark reddish brown with a tan head. Toffee aroma. Hazelnut flavor is noticeable but nicely balanced with caramel malts. Quite tasty.

Aroma is nutty malts and grains. The flavor is hazelnut, toffee, malts and a mildly tart finish.

Tap. Pours a clear light chestnut brown body under a small wispy off white head. The nose is really sweet and loaded with hazelnut, smells a bit artificial. The flavor is just as sweet as expected, tastes like hazelnut coffee with a light nuttiness and some caramel on the finish. A little too artificial and sweet with not enough body to back up the flavoring. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a too long lingering hazelnut finish. I’ll take a pass on this one if a second go around comes.

Bottle:   Ruby colored brown, large foamy eggshell colored head, nice lacing.   Soft hazelnut and toasted malts on the nose.   Somewhat of a spritzy tongue, malty, toasty, with soft hazelnuts.   Decent beer so far, only wished it were a bit sweeter and a bit more malty/chewy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with lots of Hazelnut, slight bakers chocolate, and toasted malts.   Overall a nice Brown Ale, very little hops.   Enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle. Pours reddish brown with a nice biege head. Aroma of sweet malt, nuts, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is similar. Just a bit too sweet.

12oz in MA. Light greyish brown. Big perfume aroma, hazelnut coffee creamer. Oddly artificial or pumped up nut malts. Liquid tootsie roll essence. Strong bodied but not my favorite.

Pours dark brown with a bronze hue and large beige head. The aroma has lots of hazelnuts, heavy toast/roast malt, some coffee bitterness and moderate sweetness. Really nice and pleasing aroma. It has a medium smooth body that has a bit of roughness when the lightly sharp carbonation hits. The flavor starts with nice toasted malt, heavy hazelnut, cream and roasty bitterness. The finish has more bitterness (malt?, hops?), pepper and heavy nuttiness. Very nice.
