COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In German, ’helles’ means light, bright and blonde...a perfect deScription for our uncomplicated hazy lager. With it’s balance of soft honey malt notes and floral grassy hops you will be left asking yourself is this Heaven or Helles? Cheers!

Bottle. Nice bready and toast notes. Light grass. Slight bitterness. Medium body. Better than I expected.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a foamy head. Aroma is floral with light fruit, and grassy. Taste of light fruits, bit of citrus and floral. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Moderate body, quite smooth, clean and refreshing. Beer probably goes best with a BBQ.

On tap at some Florida restaurant with the word "tropical" in the name & a bored looking steel drum player on the patio. The beer list was pretty ugly. I asked if they had an IPA & the palsied waiter said try this one. Which is odd, cuz as you know it’s a Helles. Bready malt, crisp enough finish, slightly sour. Good pre-dinner pounder on a hot late afternoon.

Bottle. Light aromas all around of grain for the malt, herbs for the hops and dried leaves for the yeast. Head is average size, frothy, white with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and faintly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation. A good drinking beer, a so-so Helles.

12 ounce bottle, 6/17/16. Clear golden, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of bready malt and citrusy hops. The taste is doughy malt, floral and citrus hops, a mild bit of toast. Thin-medium bodied, well balanced.

colui72 (1185) - HONG KONG - SEP 4, 2016
Hazy golden, no head but good lacing. Floral and grassy aroma, taste of butter and apple, honey, malty character, no much of hops. Bearable and forgettable.

Quick3Beers (1557) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 15, 2016
Pours an amber from a bottle. The description "floral grassy hops" is kind of perfect for the aroma, while the flavor is honey and a hint of apple butter. Good beer.

kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2016
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold body with a small fizzy white head that faded to a wispy partial film. The nose is ok, some slight Saaz hoppiness and light bready malt. It smells a bit sharp. The flavor is just lightly bitter with a crackery malt base. Not quite as soft and rounded as I like for the style. Light bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation and a shortish finish. Not the best Helles, but it’s decent enough.

2.2
freekyp (2482) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - AUG 9, 2016
One of my favorite styles but this one misses the mark, not at all in the league of its German forebears. Pours hazy light amber with a slight weak head. No lace. Underpowered nose showing hints if grain. Mouthfeel is decent with appropriate carbonation. It has some body. Flavor is weak though. A little grainy but little malt character and no hop character to speak of. A disappointing go round by good old Sam.

solidfunk (9789) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 2, 2016
Some light sugared grain. Pours hazy yellow with ok head and lacing. Crisp finish. Bottle at work event.

2.9
Ratman197 (15742) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 29, 2016
Bottle poured a hazy gold with a lasting white head. Atomas of bread, metallic notes and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, light fruitiness and a hint of metal with a smooth dry finish.
