Samuel Adams Hefeweizen has a traditional spin on a classic American craft brewing style. This crisp, fruity wheat ale is cloudy, because the yeast has not been filtered out. Bavarian Spalt hops give the ale a crisp elegance, that is not bitter and leaves a clean aftertaste. Cheers!

More spice than citrus here, although it’s still restrained, producing an overall effect that is pleasant, though very weak compared to a German Hef. (I can see why Ratebeer puts this in a different "Wheat Ale" category) (Rway)

Cloudy pour from bottle. Clean, fruity wheat taste. Not offensive, but nothing new or original here. With so many graet hefe’s out there, I would suggest you take a pass.

Way to much coriander upfront. Wheat flavor toward the end is nice, but I’m just not a fan of this much spice.

attractive and refreshing, but likely a mistreated sample.

Bottle->pilsner: Pours a small, frothy, white head atop a hazy, light orange body. Aroma of a barnyard and grain. The body is light, texture is thin, and the finish is chalky. Flavor is short, being lightly bitter. Almost what I’d expect from Sam Adams, however.

Not a huge fan of this one had an overall bitterness from the hops and the aftertaste was not what was expected from sam adams. Maybe I got a bad batch but this was not a very good beer

weihenweizen (3731) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - DEC 10, 2009
Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. The color is golden and hazy. Smells like wheat and has a little head that disappear quickly. I would call this an american wheat rather than a true hefeweizen. Below average for the style. Will not buy again.

nhamilton (104) - Cibolo, Texas, USA - NOV 26, 2009
Pours to a small white head with limited carbonation. A rather cloudy appearence that is somewhat bland on the taste buds. It has the flavor of drinking hay which isn’t to surprising considering it’s a wheat beer. No bitter aftertaste a plus. No Sam Adams best, but does okay for a Hefeweizen.

deyholla (11480) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 25, 2009
Bottle. Poured a hazy dark yellow with a medium sized white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma was full of banana and yeast notes. Flavor was light with sweet bananas and yeast.
