Samuel Adams Holiday Porter is a full-flavored porter inspired by the famous drink of London’s Victorian era luggage porters. Brewed with generous portions of Caramel, Munich and Chocolate malt, this hearty porter finishes with traditional English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. Cheers!

this will warm your winter up... Dark brown almost black pour with a medium/small head that stays with you. Smells kinda fruity and metallic. Has a really strong bitter/burt flavor. Has a real strong alcoholic after taste, feels like it’s sanitizing my mouth.

Had it on thanksgiving I believe. As I don’t really eat any thanksgiving food, i spent most of time with the holiday variety pack of sam adams and enjoyed my day. This one was the best beer of there and the best Sam Adams actually that I have tried. Just pure chocolate malty goodness I wish they made this available year round

This is a great, complex brew. A great balance of hops, malt, and flavoring, although the hops are a bit more dominant. Subtle citrus overtones merge with the strong caramel body. It’s a good balance of flavors, and the aftertaste is decent and long lasting. The flavors are very much merged, not blatantly identifiable as overtones and undertones - it’s up to you whether or not that’s a good thing. Great brew.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2010 A nice seasonal beer with a nice color and tan head. There is a slightly strange aftertaste which I can’t identify, perhaps malt, or cinnamon.

Alright beer. It has a strong caramel after taste. Does not say anything about coffee on the bottle but reminds me of BLACK coffee.

deep, brown color with a dark tan head, the aroma of choclate, nuts, and cream. a velvet texture on the tongue and a bitter after taste, smooth though. pretty good. not the best holiday special in the sampler.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours with thin light tan fairly quickly disappearing head and very dark amber almost black color. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate and some coffee with a little toffee thrown in. Nice body with dark chocolate and coffee overtones with a slightly subdued hop bitterness. Finishes fairly clean with some roast malt, coffee and hop flavor lingering. Wish this one were a regular offering.

Beautiful beer. Dark semi translucent red/black color. thin diminishing head. Smell is malty sweet with hints of chocolate. Taste is sweet toffee chocolate mix, with a creamy mouth feel. Finish with slight hop taste, but not very much. I loved this beer.

12 oz bottle from the Winter Classics pack. Lovely chocolate and caramel aroma with a slight hop bite. Pours a deep ruby, almost black, with a thick, lasting tan head. Nice lacing. Flavor is primarily chocolate and caramel malt. Full body with creamy texture and just enough carbonation. Lingering English hop finish. This is a lovely porter. Highly recommended.

A very dark poor. Nearly black with a slight tint of red and a nice brown head. A chocolate and darkly fruity smell. There is a roasted taste to the drink and a smooth feel of the liquid, something like a buttery pudding. Very drinkable for one but a bit rich for additional glasses.
