Nice dark body with decent head, full hoppy flavor, with a nice malt touch, amber nectar at it’s American finest, but still beaten out by many European imports. damzz (504) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 19, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2013 Pours opaque brown with an off white head. Nose is roasted malt. Palate is full bodied with strong choclate and roasted malt. Bitterness balanced with the roasted malts. gws57 (1276) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2005
Had this one bottled. Very impressed with this year’s Sam Holiday pack, by the way. This one poured coal black with a light tan head, wonderfully complex with all kinds of chocolate, coffee, orange, nutmeg, and caramel in there. Brilliant! TheBeerLover (1027) - DC Metro Area, USA - APR 23, 2006
This is a very well done porter, available in the Samuel Adams Holiday pack. Pours to a deep brown to black color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is very nice with aromas of dark chocolate, mild roast, and earthy hop aroma. The palate is soft and full on the tongue, with flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, and mild roast. This beer finishes with more of those malt and coffee flavors up front, then ends with some earthy hop bitterness. Well done, delicious porter. A great drinking beer, and a great beer to match with hearty dishes, and rich deserts. beerlover420 (10) - cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 21, 2008

Deep, dark redish-brown color with a thin, dark tan head that reminded me of the crema off a shot of espresso. The coffee theme carried itself through with the aroma where it was joined by chocolate. Very smooth on the tongue. Tastes of creamy chocolate and vanilla. Dry finish that leaves you urning for another sip. Most definitely my favorite Sam Adams yet. rampmaster (642) - Alden, New York, USA - JUL 20, 2009
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is a freshness date on the label.
Appearance: The body has a dark brown almost black appearance with deep crimson highlights when held up to light. Its has a stiff, creamy thick tan head on top that has very good retention and leaves lots of thick tan lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma fills the nose with lots of roasted sweet malts.
Taste/Mouth Feel: It has a wonderful full body that starts creamy and sweet on the palate. Quickly more roasted flavors take over with notes of burnt caramel and coffee. There is a quick flash of hop bitterness in the middle before the sweeter roasted flavors take over and fade off slowly into the finish. The texture is full and smooth on the tongue with soft carbonation.
Notes: Another great beer from mixed Holiday 12 pack.

Samuel Adams Holiday Porter is a very dark and dim red-brown ale with a frothy, splotchy, light brown head with excellent retention and lacing. It has a roasty chocolate and coffee aroma. In the mouth, it’s a fluffy, medium bodied beer with a dry finish. It has a simple, balanced, roasty flavor. I love beers like this. Codythegreat (149) - Carrollton, Georgia, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Pours a dark black with a tan head that dissapates quickly leaving only a thin layer. Has a strong caramel and malty aroma. Very strong palate with a flavor of chocolate malt. I was very impressed with this beer. Nice lacing on the glass
