I am a big fan of Porters and this was a great porter by Sam Adams. It had a nice body, but i didn’t find it too sweet. It’s just a damn shame that they don’t brew this anymore. SturmWulf (65) - USA - SEP 16, 2007
Robust aroma of Roasted Malt, Milk Chocolate, hint of Coffee, Honey. Poured a cola brown, very creamy, very big, long lasting off-white head that very, very slowly receded to a nice, thick creamy cap. Very impressive looking. Left heavy lacing. Taste was very robust. Roasted Malt was just right, followed by honey, rich coffee and rich milk chocolate. Rich in taste. Medium body, that was very creamy! Soft carbonation with a long milk chocolate finish. I am a Porter and Stout fan and this one I really enjoyed. I am adding this to my favorite rotation. Samuel Adams did a great job with this. Bobino (1) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 3, 2006 does not count
Served in my favorite stein. If you like robust roasted malt, and some sweet honey in your beer then you will love this one.
My favorite porter of all time. No other beer can match the deep honey flavor. How about bringing this beer back as a seasonal...can’t understand why it was discontinued. BigBen2120 (687) - Derry, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 6, 2007
12 oz bottle from the new Brewmaster’s 12-pack (it’s no longer retired!). Black body with just slight ruby-red highlights with a half inch of tan head that dissipates slowly leaving a fair bit of lacing. Smells like malt sweetness and honey, though aroma is slightly weaker than I would expect. Taste consists of equal parts roasted malt and honey with a hint of alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. Wow. This beer is fantastic. Easily a new favorite! Odyn (268) - New York, USA - FEB 14, 2008
This was very good. I loved the hoeny in the aftertaste as well as on the palate. I also love the dark rich color. Not terribly heavy, but rich and tasty. Not good for all day, but a pleasant well rounded drink for an evening.

Very dark, bold porter. Very malty flavor. Very nice indeed............... blatz (138) - Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Florida, USA - NOV 16, 2000
Sorely missed - another favorite of Sam's that has since been discontinued. a deep roasted porter that pours to a ruby black hue with a tan creamy head. Served chilled but not cold, the full flavor of the malts and slight hop in the balance make this an enjoyable brew. I never did detect much honey flavor at all - then again I never tasted this side by side with a plain porter. The finish was smooth and silky - hoping they bring this one back! To my surprise this was a well made beer with a taste that was even better. cjw163 (109) - hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2007
12oz bottle from variety pack. Being a porter man, this was an above average porter. the slight honey sweetened it up a bit. aarossell (151) - Grandville, Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2007
Will drink again.
Very strong mesquite honey smell. Smells like it looks, chocolatey, quite...porter-like. A bit of a smokey flavor, very sweet, honey taste, light chocolate, and lingering bitter finish. Quite delicious, best with food rather than on its own.
