Bottle from BevMo. Dark reddish copper color with an ok beige head. Aroma of roasted caramel. Full bodied with mild but sharpish carbonation. It’s rather sweet, progresses to roasted malt, shows a mild touch of coffee, has touches of likely noble hop. Heat is very well hiddden. Finishes towards dry/astringent with something like chocolate coating the mouth. It’s a variable beast. I think they have a good beer here. Ratman197 (14848) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 8, 2009

Thick body with a strong smokey malt upfront with a lot of alcohol and caramel in the finish. A good doppelbock from Sam Adams. Tmoney99 (14494) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 4, 2009

A dirty hazed brown bock with a thin mocha head. In aroma, loads of dark fruits, cherry liqueur, musty and powdery character, a bit cloying. In mouth, a sweet caramel and cherry drink, with warming alcohol, a bit lacking in body, but overall, interesting. Drake (13739) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 24, 2009
