Doughy, mandarin orange, slight coriander, light buttery aroma -- this gets much better as it warms. Didn’t like this Sam label, foggy oak stain coloring, thin, clingy head. Front-end punch of alcohol and spice which fades into pepper, followed by tart sweetness. Peppery vapor in the high palate on the finish. Lingering boozy-wood and lightly floral aftertaste. Alcohol isn’t masked very well, didn’t have as much character as I’d hoped. Market Square Liquors. LearninBeer (604) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2013 Pours a copper/orange color, cloudy, nice creamy white head a little lacing and the head is mostly diminishing. The aroma has hops, yeast and the Belgium bubble gum kinda smell, just light though. The flavor is a witbier, creamy a little syruppy a little fizzy carbonation. Not bad see how it ages.
Wow almost four years later, still copper/orange probably darker, fully diminishing head. The aroma is some Belgium yeast. the flavor has some smokiness to it, full body, creamy and soft carbonation. I would change it from a 3.5 by dropping Aroma to 6, upping Appearance to 4, Taste to 7 and overall to 17 which brings it up to3.7. PorterPounder (8086) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 13, 2009
Tallahassee, Fl. - Liquor Loft - 12 oz bottle. Dark orange, murky pour with a slight off-white head that sticks around the edge of the glass for a while. Strong aroma of alcohol, molasses and some caramel. Flavor is more akin to a maibock than a witbier in my opinion. Some molasses, a hint of caramel, some white grapes, and some apricots - kind of unusual. Detectable alcohol level, thickish mouthfeel. blutt59 (6565) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2009
bottle thanks to travita, golden brown color with slight foam, aroma is ripe fruits and same ripe fruit flavors, grape, passion fruit, mango, finish is medium but a little hot Ratman197 (14970) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 13, 2009
Bottle poured a lightly hazy amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of coriander, wheat, orange zest and light carmel. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, coriander, wheat and light orange with a smooth spiced finish.

Bottle thanks to Travita. Pours a cloudy gold with off-white head. aroma of some grapes, citrus, some spiciness, malt. Flavor is sweet malt, some citrus and spice. Mouth feel is heavy body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, not bad stuff! jblendy (519) - Hawthorne, New Jersey, USA - MAR 12, 2009
Interesting but kinda weird and a bit unbalanced. Fruity and full-bodied with strong bubble gum notes in both aroma and flavor, but it quickly turns medicinal towards the finish. I appreciate the abv, but not the overuse of spices. nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 12, 2009
12 oz bottle purchased from Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a cloudy amber color with a one finger off white head. The aroma was excellent. Coriander, bananas, citrus and some other spices were present, along with a wheat note. The flavor was typical Belgian White, with a warming alcohol finish, and a heavier palate. This was a solid brew. ross (2146) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - MAR 12, 2009
Bottle. Pours out a cloudy color with a white head on it. Smell is full of banana, like, overwhelming almost. Some other fruits are noticed too. Taste is sweet, and has alot of alcohol in it which subsides pretty quickly. Fruity banana flavors actually give it a good taste. I like this one. Based on the ratings it seems to be a love or hate beer. urbnhautebourg (997) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - MAR 12, 2009
I found this to be a bit sloppy and thick. No, I don’t find all these subtle flavors that others seem to taste. To me, it’s a murky sweet syrup of a beer. Greatly preferred the job they did with the Hallertauer Pilsner.
