This beer is more a tribute to British Inspired IPA, so hop heads will find this beer to be a bit of a dissapointment. I enjoy this one, because I really like the balance of hops, malt, and oaky character of this beer. Samuel Adams IPA pours to a deep amber, to copper color, with a nice, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is nice, with aroma of citrus hops, some pale malt, and hints of oak. The palate offers some good pale and caramel malt flavor, with nice sour/oaky undertones. This beer finishes with more malt and oak flavor up front, then ends with a mild, grassy/citrus hop bitterness. Not a very agressive example of IPA, but I don’t think a hop blast was ever the BBC’s intention with this beer. A good beer to enjoy with pub grub, and a good drinking beer.

Draught. Light amber, ok head. Nice looking beer. Decent sweet, aroma. Tasty slightly astringent, citrus flavor. Not bad.

Copper body with a white head. Decent aroma of hops with citrus. I thought the flavor left alot to be desired. Very bland for an IPA, where are the hops? I hoped for better.

Pours copper with a white head. Smells of citrus, flowers and grass. Taste is similar with the addition of some peppery elements. Some pine sol elements creep in as the beer warms.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Deep golden, orangey beer with a dense head. A pleasure to the eye. Well hopped as all traditional IPA’s with Fuggles and East Kent Goldings - classic English types. Bitterness is overwhelming to the point where this seems hard to drink. But the hops also adds beautiful aromas.

Copper with firm white head. Maltsweet aroma with notes of citrus and toffee. Hoppy flavor with notes of malt, alcohol and almonds. Hoppy decent finishing bitterness.

Best IPA I have ever had. The taste is so smooth and refreshing that I drank my whole 12 pack in two hours.

THis is one of SA’s better brews. Moderately hoppy, good look and great taste. However, with stronger IPA’s nowadays this one seems bland and behind the times. Still would buy this again if in a pinch.

(bottle) Dark gold with small rapidly fading white head. Pine hop aroma. Pine/citrus hops flavors. A decent IPA if nothing outstanding.

DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2004
This beer is hard to find. A middle-of-the-road IPA. Good hop, citrus, and floral aroma and taste. Finishes smooth. Deep amber in color, woth hints of caramel, malt, and toffee. Very complex.
