Hoppy, with a citrusy floral aroma. Malty caramel finish. Nice amber color.

Comes off with a golden hue, small tight white head and some lacing. The aroma hints of floral and aromatic hops, light citrus zest, and caramel/toffee malts. More subdued than most American IPA's, more malt and less aggressive hops than I'm used to. Lingering hop aftertaste. Thin-bodied with a sweet and lively mouthfeel. An okay IPA and a good introduction to the style for your non hophead friends.

Real hoppy aroma. Not hazy enough for me. Really hoppy flavor, but with a huge amount of malt. Not bad, not great.

Very drinkable. Generally not a fan of ipa's but this one's pretty good. A bit malty, slightly bitter. A wee-bit hoppy. Drink this when it's cold outside. Has a nice kick to it.

A decent American made IPA that uses traditional British hop varieties and it shows. Oak aged? Huh? British oak is chosen NOT to add flavor so what's the deal with oak aging? A decent enough British style Pale ale but it pales (ar ar) in comparison to some others in this category. However, if you prefer traditional varieties of hops over the omnipresent Cascades found in the west coast American Pale Ale styles, you will enjoy Sam Adams IPA.

this is a very good ipa, but really what sucks that sam adams makes? ok the cherry wheat and cranberry whatever it is...

Better than the lager. i like that it achieves smoothness while being robust.

Flora hop aroma, little head. Opaque orange in color. Fruity taste, not much hops in flavor for an IPA. Dry, dusty finish. Needs more hops and more alcohol too be a good IPA.

A decent IPA, but not nearly as hoppy as I would like. Still, it has a nice flavor and good malt finish.

As with most Sam Adams, I like it. A little sweet and very tasty. But I do prefer a little more hoppiness in my IPAs.

This bottle had a red label and an abv of 5.5%. Nice colour. The aroma is fruit and hops. The flavour is a bit on the sweet-malt side. A little more hops would be nice. In my mind very drinkable nevertheless.
