Oddly bitter. Viscous lookin. Candy perfume. Strong flat cloying & mouth coating. Difficult finish. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 24, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a slightly clear copper/bronze colored body with a full two finger white foamy head that rises a bit above the glass and dies within two minutes leaving some decent speckled clingy lacing gracing the sides of the glass
The smell had piney hops, juniper with some toasted malt.
The taste was resinous sweetness that comes across with the juniper pretty well, sweet sticky aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about a light to medium, mostly sessionable, carbonation comes across smoother than most AIPA’s but still good for the most part, and for me.
Overall, this was a good AIPA that adds in a different element that I’m not used to having, way to go Sam Adams, I’d have this one again. Nekronos (4175) - Xalapa, MEXICO - MAR 22, 2014
Very interesting. Kinda sweet and somewhat refreshing. Not tiring as many IPAs but very nice to drink with mates. rumproasts (6035) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 5, 2014
bottle. Golden with small head. Very mild hops and a quasi-spruce sweetness. Pleasant and nice, but I’d like a few more hops. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - MAR 4, 2014
Sampled on 3/14/2014. This India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle.
Medium to large sized white/beige foamy head with good lacing and nice retention. The aroma is piney and grapefruity, malty and sweet. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. The juniper berries are more evident in the taste than the aroma. Decent carbonation. Nice mild long lasting bitterness. Some herbal notes as well. Very drinkable IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle from Sam Adams winter mixed 12 pack. Pours light amber. Off white frothy head. Piney aroma. Flavor is hop bitter. Haven’t tasted Juniper, but assume that’s the flavor I’m picking up. Typical IPA mouthfeel. Overall decent drinkable beer. A typical SA special seasonal. The kind of beer that you like, but you won’t ever seek out again. bropgh (365) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2014
A- Amber with decent head and retention. Good lacing
S- Malts and citrusy bitterness. Can’t pinpoint anything in particular though.
T- Citrus bitterness and some malts. Wasn’t expecting something like this from SA.
M- Very drinkable. Light and pleasant.
O- Came with SA Winter variety case. First off, is this SA? I was not expecting something this tasty. Will definitely enjoy this again! 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle: Fairly full bodied shrubby IPA. Not all that hoppy or bitter. Has moreso of a shrubby bitterness, perhaps the Juniper? Decent body. Pretty damn shrubby overall. Shrubby!!! brandon1989 (694) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - FEB 11, 2014
pours a clear amber red color with a thick fluffy white head. the aroma is floral, sweet, slight citrusy. the taste is very mild for an ipa. you pick up some mild hops, grassy, slighty acidic, very floral. not a bad beer. CardsPackHawks (173) - South Elgin, Illinois, USA - FEB 7, 2014
Got a few of these as part of a variety pack at Christmas. The juniper does add an interesting flavor. It is kinda sweet and earthy at the same time. Not bad, but not necessarily something I would search out again.
