3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copper pour with a 1 finger, creamy off white head. Aroma of biscuit, toast, light caramel, toffee, citrus, floral and spicy hops. Flavor is a little faint up front, but not bad, toast, caramel and fruity hops, followed up by floury grain, citrus, spicy, floral, a hint of pine and cat box. The finish is a nice bitter grapefruit, meets pine buds with a a little caramel. Light, dry body with a slightly creamy feel on entry, moderate, blanketing carbonation. Good stuff, lots more bitterness than I would have expected, I wonder if this will be replacing Latitude 48 this year or if it is only for the HopOlogy mix pack.
pours a nice amber with a two finger head and has a nice citrus and herbal aroma and flavor. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2016
Pours a golden amber color with big fluffy head. Aromas of citrus, fruit, grass, and the best tropics. Flavors of tropical fruits and hops. Mjp12 (2119) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 25, 2015
Rather bland tasting ups, tastes more like a pale ale, with only slight hop influence. BeerdedDave (2005) - Beckley, USA - DEC 29, 2014
clear amber color; light, citrusy, fruity aroma with notes of pineapple and grapefruit; bitter, citrusy hop flavor with strong pineapple notes and grapefruit; dry, citrus finish degbert (1776) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours a dark gold-amber with orange highlights. High, lacy, large-grained head. Nose is clean and sharp, with rose, pine, rosemary, geranium, and spruce notes. Bright and citrusy on the tongue, with some lime and grapefruit on the finish; a little mellow savory lactic edge keeps it balanced. The best of the Deconstructed Lat 48 IPAs. I’d drink this on its own.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, orange, grapefruit. Taste balances well with the malty backbone. Not very bitter. Rather fruity, but not in that full-bodied aggressive way like so many West Coast IPAs. joeyplush (648) - Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Bottle at world of beer Easton OH. A little bit like a lager meeting an ipa. Has the trademark Sam Adams clear hue and creamy head. Taste has acidic fruit, definitely mandarin orange as advertised. Balanced out by dark malt hops. I like the experimentation on Sam Adams part - and not surprisingly it's well executed.
