I got this as part of a mix & match 6pk at Madison East.
Pours a dark brown with an average lasting off-white head. Scent is mostly malts that are toasted and roasted with hints of cocoa. Taste is rich and refreshing. It is full of sweet, malty flavors and a mixture of spices. Great texture and drinkability with a sweet cocoa after taste. Very well made and very impressive for being a home brew winner.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark brownish mahogany with a thin beige head. Sweet aromas of toffee, bread, graham cracker. Moderate body. Carbonation spot on. This a total malt-bomb, and I love it. Caramel, toffee, coffee cake. Faint ethanol on the finish. Really a great beer. I dig it and I want more. Make this a seasonal! Very toasty aroma. Very dark larger. Caramel taste. Pretty sweet with toasty finish. Very impressed and unique. GMUcrew7 (577) - Mason, Ohio, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Nice dark pour with a tan head. Brown sugar and candied dark fruit aroma. The flavor is surprisingly different, yet also very good, than the aroma. Roasted malts and bread with a hint of yeast and spice. This is the best of this style that I’ve had, I wish I had found it sooner. Petrucci914 (910) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Pours a mahogany color with a medium off-white head which fades to a thin ring with some glassy lacing. Aroma is bready malts, spicy notes, and light caramel malts. Taste is smooth, full-bodied, spicy notes, bready malts. Top-knotch!

bottle. don’t see too many dunkels around here. this one pours a clear brown with a large, foamy, beige head. nose of light toast and toffee with a hint of nuts. creamy, lagerish mouthfeel and a medium body. nuts, dough, toast, and toffee in the flavor. delicate carbonation. pretty darn good man. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - APR 11, 2012
Pitch black pour with some nice head. Aroma is very pleasant. Roasted malt, marshmellow, black licorice, and even some floral and spicy notes. Interesting taste. Crisp smooth taste with lots of flavor. Roasted malt mostly with hints of sweetness and spiciness. Bready finish. Very nice beer. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 24, 2012
Pours a nice clear brown with beautiful reddish highlights and good ample ring of tan head. Really excellent nutty fruity toasty aroma, and the flavor follows perfectly. Great biscuit and dark roasty huge malty flavor. REALLY liked this quite a bit. mixmasterob (1057) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 24, 2012
Dark reddish pour with a nice tan head. Aroma was rich and malty with notes of nuts and dried fruit. Gorgeous. Flavors were lightly sweet, lots of caramel, rich malt with a nutty finish. Mouthfeel was extremely full for the ABV, carbonation medium to light. Quite an achievement from this one, a real winner. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle pours brown with a medium light brown head. Aroma and flavor are awesome. Huge bread and nutty malt with really nice yeast character in the finish. This is a home run.
