UPDATED: FEB 22, 2007 Well, not my favorite style, but heck, this was pretty sharp within the Dortmunder Export group. Crystal clear golden pour, nice initial head, excellent continuous thin head throughout the rest of the drink, solid lacing, foamy rings with each sip. The aroma was biscuits, musty, grassy hops. The flavor followed suit, firm malty support underneath it all (pils malts, sulfur/dms in a good way within style), yet dry and crisp in the finish with those grassy hops. Quite nice, another fine contribution by Sammy to the "masses." Glad to have found this six pack of 3 different winning homebrews. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 25, 2007
golden body with large head..bready, earthy aroma with light hops and some sweet malts...flavor is exactly the same with a touch of spice...thin palate stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 25, 2007
Bottle sampled with Mad_indian. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, german style hops, and bread. The flavor is bready, sweet malts, and mild hops detected. OK body, Ok brew. Lowe1983 (1656) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - JAN 24, 2007
Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is of yeast, earthy spices, and some hay. Flavor is pretty much the same with strong flavors of bready yeast. A respectable brew but not anything I’m going to miss when it’s gone. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2007
Thank you stegosaurus. Golden pour thin head. Bready aroma I didn’t notice the spicy hops but their is an odd odor. This body slightly sweet spicy taste. A little thin for my likings but not a bad beer over all.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2007 Clear golden body, moderate sized head, solid lacing and retention. Aroma is bready with some spicy hops. Ends with a lightly bitter finish, I agree there isn’t much for sweetness here (not that I care.) Very, very light alcohol detected. Enjoyable but simple. Bottle from Long Shot collection 2006: Clear, straw colored body, with two finger head and little retention. Very yeasty, rye bread like aroma with cayenne pepper and nutmeg notes. Different, if nothing else. A lot of flavor to this dortmunder. Bready, but not very sweet malts. Hops are spicy and quite present in flavor, maybe a little overdone. Good body. The rye bread quality is overpowering in the mouth. This is very unique to what I have had in the past, and really want to try it again.
