It’s a good imperial stout. Has a burnt chocolate taste with a bit of coffee. Silky like milk. Petrucci914 (910) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Pours inky black with a large pillowy mocha head that leaves webs of lacing - really looks beautiful. Aroma is peaty, iodine, light chocolate, and coffee roasts. Taste is much the same - weird smokey peat and iodine taste. Not agreeing with me that well. mjg74 (3156) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Bottle from Casa De Oro. Dark in color. Nose is roasted matiness with a hint of sweetness. Roasted maltiness seems to dominate. Some milky sweetness. A little hop kick in the finish. Alcohol is also a little noticeable. Decent impy. RSRIZZO (2020) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2012
12oz bottle poured into a Snifter at 41°. Color is black with mellow carbonation and a very small tan head. Aroma of molasses and coffee. It has a bolder medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor is deeply roasted with coffee and some caramel ending with a light bitterness. In the after taste the flavors turn to a paint like taste. Overall its not a very good Imperial Stout, flavors come out a bit odd. wxman (1841) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Pours a totally opaque dark brown (almost black) with a thick, rich chocolate head. Nose is roasted grain and molasses. Taste is not totally stout-like, but is well balanced and delicious nevertheless. I get the normal stout chocolate and dark, rich coffee characteristics, but there’s also the tart, sweet malt, vinous and high ABV emblems you’d expect from a barleywine ale. This is great stuff!

Pours a pitch black with medium dark tan head, decent lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, and herbal hops. Flavor matches well and is actually a pretty decent surprise. Solid impy stout, but nothing special. Can’t think of a better deal on an impy stout. Trev (2023) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Thick black pour with a nice tan head.
Aroma is cocoa, nice dark roast maltiness. Some dark fruits coming on in flavour. Dryish, bakers chocolate through middle. Brandies cherries in the finish?

Just a hint of roasted notes for an aroma. This beer pours a beautiful opaque, thick black, with a full tan head. This beer is full of roasted notes, with a slick mouthfeel, and a touch of bitterness in the finish. The finish is long, with hints of coffee and chocolate. This is a solid Imperial Stout, and I’d like to see this come around full time. thornecb (6021) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Pours black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate, vanilla and sour pit fruit aromas. Medium bodied with espresso and metallic chocolate upfront turning to mild charred pot fruit in the lasting finish. fiercepanda (615) - Missouri, USA - MAR 23, 2012
A black beer with a medium brown head. The aroma is chocolate and a little dried fruit. The flavor is roasted malt and bittersweet with a twang of alcohol.
