Caitlin DeClercq created her Honey Beeís Lavender Wheat with dried lavender petals, giving it a fragrant but soft aroma. A citrus tartness and slight sweetness from the honey and vanilla balance out the finish in this California residentís brew, perfect to sip while kicking back and relaxing.

Bottle: Pours a clear dark yellow with a medium white head, sweet malts and flowers in the aroma, light bodied, starts and ends lightly sweet with a spring flower aroma at the end.

Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2011
Bottle: The aroma is heavy on the lavender along vanilla, honey, and a touch of grape. It pours a transparent gold with a small soapy white head that leaves behind spotty lacing. The flavor starts sweet with honey and light vanilla. It finishes lightly floral with lavender and a touch of citrus. The lavender is not nearly intense in the flavor as it is in the nose. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall the honey and vanilla is a tad sweet for my tastes.

Pour is a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is deffinatly lavendar with some sweet malt. Flavor is a very light honey malt and again some lavendar appears. Finish is sweet and cloying. Ok and a good use of lavendar which is one of the better aromas on earth.

bottle. clear gold with medium sized white head with lively bubbles. aroma of vanilla, floral hops, and sweetened toasted oat cereal. flavor is moderately sweet with lots of graininess and vanilla. the hops are floral. herbal coolness in the finish. the lavender might be a bit much, but the base beer is great. Caitlin...letís brew something up in my kitchen!

Pours bright clear golden with a large white head. The lavender really jumps out on the aroma and is very floral and a bit powdery. There is smooth American wheat ale maltiness and a touch of sweetness. Light smooth slick body with really gentle carbonation. The flavor is still very heavy on the lavender, a bit of spicy hops, smooth orange flavor, clean wheat and a bit of sweetness that is probably from the honey. The finish has more spiciness to it and a small mineral taste. Quite enjoyable.

Hangover (1133) - oxford, Georgia, USA - MAR 25, 2011
Clear golden pour with a huge frothy head. I can smell the lavender along with some honey and light bisquit. Mouthfeel is slightly carbonated, medium bodied with a pretty high level of sweetness. Honey and lavender are in the easy flavors to pick out, maybe a bit of grassy/herbal. Finish is crisp but short. Different.

tmoreau (4290) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAR 25, 2011
Full sample served from 12 oz. bottles during the Longshot VIP Tasting at the Chicago Marriott. Displayed a clear, light golden color with decent, white, moussy head foam and wavy lacing. The aroma was pleasantly floral & herbal, with light honey & fruit sweetness. Ditto on the flavor, with a little citrusy tang, light body, and soft carbonation. Lightly dry at the finish, a little thin, but tasty.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with white foamy head. Aroma is very interesting, herbal, floral, spicy. Flavor is unique, light fruit notes blended in with a strong herbal presence, very subtle honey sweetness. Mouthfeel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, interesting brew.

Aroma has a definite lavender overtone to it that is quite pleasing, sweet honey backing with some hop texture poking their way through the others. Appearance is a clear golden with the thick frothy white head that lingers. Taste is interesting a bit astringent, the lavender comes through on the taste as well, sweet, lightly hoppy, and definite floral overtones. Palate is medium to low carbonation in the mouth, aftertaste is rather clean and just a little dry. Overall, Smells wonderful but Iím just not digging the taste and mouth feel. Decent.. Cheers!
