bottle - Pours hazy gold with a lingering white head. It smells of yeast, lemon, and pepper. The flavor is lightly sweet with citrus and spice notes. It’s crisp and bubbly, an easy drinking brew that finishes with a touch of dryness. I enjoyed it. tgncc (3136) - Bellmore, New York, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Upfront, the aroma is bubble gum, lemon, spicy, wheat. The appearance is a hazy yellow, orange tinge, white head. The flavor is lemon, yeasty, spicy, wheat/cereal grain. Medium, almost thin in body. The finish is bubble gum sweet, with a light hop bittering, and some (very light) piney hops. Really not bad at all. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 24, 2011
Pours cloudy amber with a whte head. Smells of lemon, dry pilsner malt, some peppery splashes. Tastes dry and citrussy with some mellow lemony notes on the finish. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2011
Reviewed from notes. Got a sixer of this year’s LongShot. Figure I’d drink one of each and age the other.
Pours a slightly hazed golden color with a white head and a decent amount of lacing. Nose brings forward some lemon zest and a fairly hefty dose of black pepper. The taste is also dominated by pepper and a bit of lemon, also adding in a bit of sweetness and bread. Slight spicy taste from something other than the pepper, probably the year. The over-spicing certainly affects the mouthfeel and the drinkability. Hopefully the spicing begins to fade a bit with some age.

Hazy pour topped by a thick white head. The nose is fairly estery. Lots of banana and a bit of clove. Banana and pepper initially with a hint of softer, spiciness on the back. The yeast reminds me of Ommegang, only tilted more towards the estery side of things. There is a bit of light peppery flavour on the finish. A little bit fruity - banana, some peach and a touch of sweetness. Okay - if my the numbers.

Golden color with some white head. Citrus aroma - mostly lemon, some spicyness and Belgian yeast flavors. Very interesting and unique. I like how Sam Adams takes chances with the LongShot series. jgb9348 (6399) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 5, 2011
Hazy orange colorued body with a nice copper glow and a thin, fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of strong coriander seed, curacao, wheat, yeast and a touch of cloves - I don’t smell any black peppercorn nor any lemons, just curacao. Medium-bodied; Assertive spicey flavour at first with a kick of the cloves and some wheat, yeast and some alcohol. Aftertaste shows a lot of spice as well with some coriander seed, pepper (it finally shows) and more cloves. Overall, a decent beer - definitely showing some creativity much more than Sam Adams, but not as polished as a top craft saison. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from the six pack sampler, purchased at Ye Olde Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-July-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 05-February-2011. Bottle courtesy Fratto. Slightly cloudy golden color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is fresh grains, citrus fruit and slightly peppery. Flavor is sweet fruit, Belgian notes with lemon. A little peppery that has a dry finish. Tiny bit of cardboard near the end. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 28, 2011
Bottle from the internet. Slightly hazed yellow pour with a white head. Aroma is lemon, a little spicy, and yeasty. Taste is dry, spiced, and a little citrusy. Nice finish. Doppelganger (1388) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - JAN 12, 2011
Bottle, from Paskie. Thanks Ryan! Burnt orange with a little skiff of white bubbles. Lemon and fruit leather aroma, background spice on the restrained side. Buttery lemon flavor, some nettle spice. Nice bright carbonation and a nice initial round mouthfeel, though the finish is rather abrupt,
