Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a foamy beige head. Aroma is resin/citrus/earthy. Near full bodied. Flavor is a definitely sweet caramel backbone, but there’s a lot of earthy/resin hop to off set that. Don’t know what happened to the citrus. It’s really quite mouthsmacking. Finishes definitely bitter, but not absolutely dry. Really good ale. unclemike (3163) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Poured deep amber/red with a tan head. A little bit of an aspirin not here, especially on the nose. Fortunately the resinous and citrus hop tones masked it enough for this to be a good drinking beer. Lots of malt sweetness in this one too jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Bottle. Pours a copper color with white head. Caramel, hoppy, metallic flavors. Not a fan. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle in KC, shared by jcnielsen. Grazie! Pours a dark orange appearance with a tan head. Somewhat grapefruity citrusy, a bit spicy piney, light chemical, a bit toasty malty nose. Slight candy, orange fruity, lemon, somewhat spicy, toasted caramel malty flavor. Another from this LongShot series six pack that is a disappointment. Bottled. Poured clear, fiery orange with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up juicy redder fruits and citrus with dusty earth and peppery spicage around. The flavor found semi-sweet fruit and caramel notes at the core, with spicy pine, redder fruit, and grassy bitterness around.. resiny and bitter on the long finish. Medium-bodied with moderate-plus bitterness on the palate.. soft carbonation on the middle.. good stuff.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Big grapefruit and pine aroma. Grapefruit and pine resin flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel linger with raisin and pine. BeerFlavoredBeer (260) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 10, 2013
This was supposed to be the stand-out in this Longshot batch, but all I got was a bunch of hops with no real direction and no focal point for the different flavors. Not that much better than the hordes of other IPAs with random hop additions. SpringsLicker (3677) - Tennessee, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Pours clear deep coppery gold with a tall, lasting, sticky, off-white head.
good hop aroma. Citrus with some resiny pine.
Bitter flavor with some underlying juicy malt sweetness.

12 oz bottle from a six pack. Pours almost clear copper with a cream-colored head with good retention that leaves some lace. Aroma is bready, caramelly, perfumy--not the type of aroma I look for in an IPA. Taste is bittersweet. Tastes more like a barleywine than a DIPA. Has a lingering bitter cough drop flavor. Oily mouthfeel, average carbonation, full body. Not for me. callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Deep amber body, off-white head, soapy lacing. Big resinous profile with a fair bit of malt clouding things. Medium to full bodied, slightly boozy, moderate carbonation and bitterness.
