Clear amber beer with a big off white head. Light palate, a little dry and crispy. Very light malt with a lot of floral things going on. Very mild citrus underneath. Semi dry finish with mild bitter linger. The most floral barleywine I’ve ever had!
Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of byaeger. Pours an almost clear amber with an off-white head. Caramellish nose, slightly nutty with some alcohol. Rich body, sweet caramel, somewhat spicy - almost peppery - with only a vaguely oxidized edge. Very subtle bitterness. A very easygoing Barley Wine that will offend no-one. 150812

Reddish brown pour. Very clear. No head. Nose is almost like an IPA, lots of spruce and citrus. Taste is light and malty with lots of maple, candied dark fruits and brown sugars. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 6, 2013
Bottle @ Aaron’s basement. Hazed copper pour with an off-white head. Sweet caramel and fruit. Plum, dates, and hints of citrus peel. Some grape/wine, notes. Sweet flavor of brown sugar and caramel. Dates, plums, and grape. Citrus zest, some sherry, and apple. Oxidation is evident. bhensonb (15621) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 10, 2010
Bottle from the Natomas BevMo. Pours antique copper with a 4 finger foamy beige/tan head. Rich sweet caramel aroma. Backed by some herby/citrus hop. Full bodied with mildly creamy carbonation. The first impression is roast caramel and darkish fruit. With a bit of time there’s some citrus hop bitter. It seems much more balanced than most barley wines. Let’s hear it for Ben Miller. Heck of an ale. djd07 (15342) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2010
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium creamy beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a sweet raisin malt with floral and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a hop bite and a nice bitter finish. Alcohol present but not too overpowering, a good barleywine. Ratman197 (15220) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 25, 2010
