Moderate aroma of toffee, oranges, plum, and strawberries. Clear copper, tons of carbonation, thin yellow head. Woody plum and malt flavor. Grainy, malty wheat bread finish. Alcohol very well concealed, not cloying. Delightfully easy to drink. Masterfully crafted and well done. Great take on the style. rman18 (312) - Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - MAY 4, 2010
I absolutely loved this beer. The smell is of caramel and a little hops. The Appearance is beautiful dark amber and no head to speak of. The taste is of caramel, very slight hops and some fruit, perhaps prune. It is wonderful but a little sweet. MPosey (134) - , Georgia, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Pours a wonderfully barelywine ruby color with an offwhite head which fades rather quickly. A wonderful caramel attack, which mellows to a nice balanced finish. A very nice beer, best of the longshot series that I have had thus far. Cybercat (5893) - Georgia, USA - JUN 20, 2010
Pours a pretty coppery mahogany with a decent pale orange-tan head. Spicy, slightly malty aroma has an undertone of brandy. Flavor is quite strong, slightly sweet, spicy and malty with a firm but not fierce alcohol bite. Texture is smooth yet edgy and somewhat fizzy, leaving a brandy-like nip behind. Barleywine lovers, get it before it’s gone! jimhilt (2611) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 8, 2010
Pours a three-finger thick off-white head that fades very slowly, leaving an excellent lace. Crystal clear, deep amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is caramel and malt. Flavor is caramel and some alcohol. Finish is mellow citrus and alcohol. Best by Sep 2010. $9.99 for a 6-pak of 12oz bottles from Barb’s Beer Emporium Concord, NH.

A great Barleywine. Poured a darker amber color with a very small white head. Aroma was caramel and hops. Very hoppy aftertaste. Bitter beer, very good beer from a good homebrewer. adrian910ss (2582) - Doylestown, PA, USA - APR 26, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a perfectly clear ruby amber with a medium sized cream colored head. Aroma of tangy citrus, caramel, malts and toffee. Taste of malts, tangy citrus, toffee and hops. Nice stuff from SA. jkaiser (279) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2010
Pretty great Barleywine. 6th beer out of 6 for me on my summer vaca to Manchester June 11th 2010. Taste of dark fruit and tons of malt. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 20, 2010
Pours ruby with a thin rocky tan head. Notes of caramelized wort, toffee, chewy malt, winey, light citric hops. Full bodied with smooth carbonation. I dislike many barleywines due to their residual sugars, but I really enjoyed this one. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - JUL 6, 2010
Vintage 2010. 12oz bottle. Dark copper color, light tan head. Nice citrus hops aroma. Its nice to have an American Style BW. Very sticky and has long legs on the glass. Whoa, its a biig one. Very heavy bodied. Flavor of burnt sugars, lots of caramels, burns as it goes down. Very sweet with a ton of dark fruit character. Plums and dates, lots of raisin, and a touch of molasses. Finishes with a well balancing floral hop. It is a super tasty BarleyWine. This beer alone is worth the Sam Adams’ Mixed 6pk.
