3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sugary dark fruit sweet mess. Not very drinkable, and I’m glad I only bought one of them.
Copper color with a moderate sized, beige colored head. Sweeter aromas, with some dark fruit, corn silage, caramel and some floral hops. Full feel with a very tight carbonation that lifts the heaviness off the palate. Quite sweet from the start. Caramel, dates, and ripe melon lead to a toasted nut and mildly old acidic nut flavor. I am still catching some DMS here and there. An old ale with tendencies of a barleywine and strong ale. 5/10 generallee08 (778) - New York, USA - JUL 1, 2014
The body has a deep red/orange amber color with clarity and some visible carbonation. Its head is off white, thick and slow fading. This slow fading head makes some good spotty lacing that hangs on to the sides of the glass. The aroma is very sweet and malty. There are wonderful fruity notes with sweet cherry notes standing out. There is a deep sticky sweetness with notes of caramel covered cherries, raisons and white grapes. As I drink and the beer warms I start to get some maple notes as well. This sweetness is the dominating character with hop flavor being almost lost until late into the finish. Here in the finish there is just a hint of hop bitterness and some light citrus/herbal notes. The palate has a medium to full body with a slick and sticky, but not too heavy, texture.

12-ounce brown bottle poured in 2014. Aroma a bit muted, malty and almost musty. Pours a deep amber color with no head. Medium body, solidly malty sweet flavor balance. So little yeast characteristics, seems like a lager. Clean, probably more interesting when fresher.

Rated in 2010 (Backlog) - Ruby brown with a decent sized beige head. Aroma is of caramel, raisin bran, nuts and bread. Taste is of caramel, booze, raisin and prune. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Bottle @ home from my rotbox via trade with Homer321. Thanks Homey! Pours a murky orangish brown appearance with a thin cream colored head. Fairly oxidized, mild caramel, bready, cardboard, raisin, brown sugar aroma. Quite sweet, candied orange, plum, grape, cardboard, quite boozy, sugary flavor. Still pretty boozy but it’s also really starting to oxidize.

A - Pours a crimson mahogany. Small off-white head that melt quickly into a single bubble island.
S - Dried figs, simple sugar caramel, alcohol vapors, Christmas spices,
T - Brown sugared cherries, fig, candied marshmallow, Brown sugar. A light smokiness resides in the background. Toasted candy malt.
M - Syrupy and sharp.
The beer has a candied simple syrup character. One is enough for a setting.

Hazy brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with a little fine carbonation. Malt, bubblegum. Trace of citrus. Semi dry finish. Fine.
Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours cloudy amber with a thick beige head and a strong treacle aroma. There is a fruity dark molasses with a tastefully bitter finish. Nice job, Michael. chicowv (477) - Canaan Valley, West Virginia, USA - OCT 7, 2012
12 oz bottle. Tasted at Casey’s , did not take notes. Pretty good Old Ale. A little harsh with the alcohol finish. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - OCT 6, 2012
12oz bottle, 2.5yrs old, bb 09/10. Spent a fair amount of that time in the fridge. Aroma is fruity; pears & dates, dark caramel, a touch of pleasant oxidation. Tasty is dulce de leche, dark fruits, black pepper and a bit more of that oxidation, still a complementary amount, although showing a bit of cardboard. Thick bodied, but not flabby. When the LongShot beers are good, they are typically very good.
