Crisp copper and orange coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall thick white head with a nice orange glow. Aroma of pure strawberries, sugar, wheat, malt, raspberries and more icing sugar - amazing smell. Medium-bodied; Assertive strawberry flavour at first coupled with the strong malty taste and a hint of alcohol and wheat notes. Medium-bodied; Very nice and super pungent strawberry flavour - straight from a farm, amazingly sweet and flavourful. Aftertaste shows a good malt backbone, some hints of alcohol, sugars, grass and a bit of artificial strawberry notes. Overall, a very nice and strong beer with super pungent strawberry flavours, but they all work well and show off extremely nice relative to the style and depth of the beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Sterling, Virginia on 03-May-2013 for US$1.67 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 14-June-2013. The appearance of this beer is clear amber with an abundance of fine sediment, which makes the beer hazy overall, and with a small white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma hits you boldly on nose without overpowering you and smells somewhere between strawberry soda and stewed strawberries, and the taste is mildly sweet and slightly sour, much like a raw strawberry, which is quite pleasing; however, the palate isn’t exciting or fitting because the medium body feels out of place with the lively carbonation, sticky texture, and abrupt finish that call for a much lighter beer, especially because this is a lager. beaz1591 (238) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Flute. Nice smell of strawberry’s and cream. Almost reminds me of some ice cream. A nice tasting and refreshing beer. The strawberry’s aren’t overwhelming and it finishes with a pleasant creamy taste. Not the prettiest beer, somewhat clear gold. Has flecks of I’m guessing strawberry’s. superspak (5801) - Michigan, USA - JUL 27, 2013
12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 8/2013. Pours very cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big ripe strawberries, pear, light bread, light honey, and light floral hops. Very nice aromas with big strawberry presence; and good strength. Taste of lightly tart strawberries, pear, cracker, bread, floral, light honey, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of strawberry, pear, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light honey, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a bit. Nice flavor balance of strawberry, malt, hop, and yeast esters; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good fruited lager style. Very nice balance of flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering. lamas (1648) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Bottle. Enjoy before: 08/13. A hazy amber pour with tons of floaties and a thick beige head on top. Loads and loads of tart strawberries dominate the aroma. A light breadiness, some sweet cereal grains, and a fair amount of honey in the mix too. Very appetizing. Thin to medium-bodied and crisp on the way down. Caramel and sweet cereal grains are present upfront taste-wise. Juicy strawberries dominate thereafter. A tad wheaty with a hint of lemon at the end. Packed with lots of strawberry flavor, but at no point do things become too cloying. Very nicely done.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden color with a little bit of an orange-red like hue. The brew is lightly hazed with many particulates floating about the brew. Upon pouring there is a one finger billowy white head that has a good level of retention slowly fading to leave a fantastic level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big and sweet. The sweet is a massive dose of strawberry taking on an almost strawberry jam like smell. While sweet, the aroma is very authentic of strawberry with no artificial smells. Mixed with this aroma is a little bit of biscuit and honey overall giving a fantastically strawberry shortcake like smell.
Taste – The taste starts out with a biscuity and quite sweet taste. The sweetness upfront, while composed mostly of strawberry, had other sweeter tastes of caramel as well. As the taste advances the caramel fades while the strawberry gets even stronger. With the increase in strawberry comes some flavors of a grassy hop and a little bit of lemon adding just a touch of sourness and bitterness to balance out the sweet leaving a nice taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium to slightly thicker side for a lager of 5.5 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The combination of the two are rather nice for blending drinkability, with the sweet fruitiness of the beer while still upholding the lighter malt and the little bit of hop that is there at the end of the taste.
Overall – I think strawberry beers are some of the harder ones to craft and this one is pretty good. It has a good showing of strawberry without being artificial or cloying in nature and still maintaining a good level of drinkability.

bottle. gold with some floating particles under a white, fluffy, head. straw and strawberry aroma. light, refreshing, real strawberry flavors up front and finishes with a clean grainy flavor. light body. poisoneddwarf (2605) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Rating from 6/10/13. 12 oz bottle from the mixed sixer. Pours slightly hazy gold with particles floating around under a nice white head with great retention; leaves some lace. Smells like strawberry wafers. Taste is sweet, a little tart, finishing dry and a little bitter. Nice strawberry flavor and aroma. Palate is fairly thin, watery. Showed some promise but it’s a little too watery. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - MAY 18, 2013
12 oz. bottle- Pours hazy golden with a fluffy white two finger head. Aroma is fresh picked strawberries, this is the cleanest smelling fruit beer I think I have had. The taste is strawberry shortcake, with whipped cream on top, only with real strawberries and less sweet than it sounds. You could pound down a few of these in the summer, but would eventually have to switch to something more dry on the palate. I enjoyed this, especially the aroma, it won’t win any awards, besides the Longshot one of course, but this is tasty, another example of raters being biased against a beer because it contains fruit. mnmike (1086) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 2, 2013
I’m a sucker for some good fruit beers and this lager fits the bill... Makes me want to go try a homebrew recipe
