The body had a deep dark brownish amber color with a big light tan head on top. The head hangs on well and slowly fades down to a thin covering. Lacing on the glass is slick and sides down as I drink. Its aroma is full of deep rich bready malt character. The flavor has a big malty sweet character and solid full body. There are some light toasted notes, pretzel notes, caramel and thick bready maltiness throughout with just enough hops to let you know they are there too. The finish has some mild bitterness and herbal hop flavor quickly fading off the tongue. Its texture is smooth and slick on the palate with light carbonation. very dark brown intense colour, smokey salami aroma, fine coffee flavor, long aftertaste - remembers me more to a porter than to a bock hotstuff (5270) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Rated on 01-09-2009 at Fort Wayne, IN Winter Gathering (Bottle provided by patrick767) This bottled beer pours a small tan head, amber body, spotty amounts of lacing, and very little visible carbonation. The Aroma is malty, plums, cherries, and semi-sweet. The Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, and fruity. The Palate is tingly with mild carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink at 6.8%ABV, but it could use more flavor. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Poured from 12 ounce bottle, tasted on June 3, 2009--just recently found my tasting notes. Dark amber/brown color, small off white head, intense malty aroma, subtlely rich, tangy malty aroma. Very nice interpretation of the style. bigguns22 (803) - Maryland, USA - SEP 21, 2012
I should have drank sooner but it was pushed to the side in it wait for fall and cover with new beer. Pour was still great amber to brown in color with a large cream head that was fluffy and creamy. Aroma is malty and nutty. Flavors is very nice and even being 3 years pass best date still taste fresh and full body. If it is brew again would buy for sure.

Bottle purchased in a Las Vegas liquor store. Clear brown beer. Dry crispish palate turning softer. Marmite malt and not much else other than a trace of bubblegum in the finish.
Found some old notes on this brew after moving. Bottle from 08/2010. Clear dark brown pour with a large head to it. very light aroma. Toasty with good malt and light caramel. Finished a little early though leaving something out. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle:   Deep reddish caramel, large frothy sand colored head, decent lacing.   Sweet malty nose, dpento1 (236) - Virginia, USA - APR 26, 2011
bready, caramel, minor dark pitted fruit.   Very smooth on the tongue, malty, soft breadiness, but not so much of
the dark pitted fruit.   This is rather enjoyable.   Little bit of caramel on the backside.   This is
meatier and heavier than the standard Bock.   Wow, yeah, really liking this one.   Feels fairly viscous.
Biscuity as well.   Tasty, heavy, which is great but couldn’t drink more than a few of these.   Very
Pours a light brown-amber with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, malts, and brown sugar. Flavor of sweet, dried fruits, with caramel, cocoa, and a mild nuttiness. Finishes is lightly bitter with a sticky finish. SDalkoholic (2434) - Linda Vista, California, USA - APR 16, 2011
Bottle from liquor store in Bonita: Poured with a thick fat foamy head while the bock was a leather brown hue with no sign of carbonation bubbles rising. Nose is decked with a perfect aroma of malt, fruit and nuts which is why I thought highly of it. The flavor is nutty just like a true England brown ale but is much more complex than that with the fruity flavors of raisin and fig that play they part while the malts sit back and dish out a delicate sweetness that makes this a solid bock.
