Nutty and slightly sweet aroma. Clear mahogany color with nice head. Balanced taste, not too sweet. Toffee flavors. Very drinkable. Recommend it. libertine (434) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - FEB 6, 2013

This is a delicious and wonderfully calibrated porter--not overly sweet, it is full of nutty and roasty character of pecan with a nice trace of maple syrup hovering in the taste.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with amber highlights. Thin tan head. Nose is loaded with maple and roasted malts. Taste is of dry pecans, maple, vanilla, and roasted malts. Hints of dark cocoa and coffee grinds. Dry finish. One of the better Sam Adams I have had.

Sweet notes of coffee and toffee, perhaps a touch pecan. Deep brown to black with a beige head. Sweet with only a small touch of any maple character, mostly roast flavors. Medium bodied with a sweet finish. jsmerig (1719) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Pours a deep dark brownish red with a foamy tan head. Aroma of toasted coffee and deep maple. Taste is sweet and syrupy with a tremendous after flavor of maple syrup and toasted nuts. Slightly bitter offset. I could drink a six of this before moving on to something else.

Dark brown with amber hues. Maple and pecan on the nose and palate. Medium sweet. Medium body, good carbonation, thin oily texture and a light bitter sweet finish. More of a brown than a porter. demitriustown (1192) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - FEB 3, 2013
12 oz bottle: Aroma is malty, slightly nutty, with a real subtle maple note to it. Slightly smoky, coffee, and dark chocolate. Appearance is a coca-cola like consistency with a medium tan head that actually lingers around for quite a while. Taste is sweet, got a real nice malt backing, maple come through more in the taste. light pecan, light coffee, and chocolate cake. Palate is medium to low carbonation with an aftertaste that is rather clean. Overall, Nothing really special just a nice beer. Cheers! ronaldtheriot (2020) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Samuel Adams Maple Porter has a thick, beige head, a dark reddish-brown, yet fairly clear, appearance, lots of streaming bubbles, and a good amount of splotchy lacing left around the glass. The aroma is of brown bread crust, pecan shell, and maple syrup. Taste is of sweet, brown bread, brown bread crust, sugary syrup, a slight nuttiness, and some mild bitterness at the middle and end of the sip. The mouthfeel is pretty light and watery, but it does have some body, and Samuel Adams Maple Pecan Porter finishes semi-dry, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this is another pleasant beer from Samuel Adams, and I am glad I tried it. RJT
