COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Part of the Beer Lovers Choice 2011.

Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

Pours a deep dark brown. Almost a cola color. A nice thick tan head. Aroma if maple and roasted malt. The taste is toasty coffee with a hint of maple. The commercial discription is accurate. This is a nice brew!!

12oz into a pint. Taste upfront is syrup, aunt jamima maybe, then the maple interflow begins and is followed by the introduction of the peacan. A nice meshing to a flavorful porter. Roasty attributes to cocoa, syrup, nuts and choco delivery a tasty treat. Head is frothy and compact and then covers the brew thoughout. Color is heavy brown with glades of amber sneaking through. I keep going back to a breakfast I had 7 years ago in Kansas. Fun, enlightening, and new. A fresh appeal and new twist on a conventional porter. Nice job.

Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of maple, nuts, chocolate and toffee. Taste follows, a bit artificial and a little too sweet. Nice to try but I wouldn't want to drink this regularly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from spring variety pack. Poured turbid dark brown with minimal tan head. Nose was vienna malt, nuts, maple. Tastes somewhat sweet, with a definite pecan/nut element, some cacao, malt, and finishing maple flavor. Good, but not better than your standard nut brown ale.

Beer is dark clear appearance. Head is small 1cm after pour. Taste is sweet with maple syrup flavor as advertise. Ladies might like it for it lack of bitterness and sweet taste ;)

Has a nice malty flavor with the sweet syrup and nuts to it. More on the focus on malts than hops . Has a rich complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle from the Spring Mixed 12 pack. Purchased at Food 4 Less in Woodland. The aroma on this is quite sweet, with a ton of pecan nutty aromas. Light roastiness, in a coffee like way. Lingering maple character, too. Seems a little artificial. Transparent cola-colored body, with a quickly dissipating, weak cola-colored head. Starts sweet, sugary, with maple flavoring. Quite cloying. Becomes a little roasted in the middle, with a small metallic character present. Finishes with a bombardment of nutty pecan flavor. I am glad they only put 2 of these in the pack, because they are overly cloying, and I cant see myself drinking more than 2 of these things.

Aroma is pecans and roasted malts. The flavor is pecans, mild sweetness, malts and a hint of acidity/tartness in the finish.

you can really taste both the maple syrup and the pecan. It is a dark red in color with minimal head. Had the maple sweetness with a nutty finish and had occasional hints of both chocolate and coffee, medium body with an oily texture, still delicious

Strong aroma of sweet syrup. Nice dark brown colour, with a lingering tan head. Dominant syrup flavour, too much sweetness, but a nice change and goes down smooth.
