COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Part of the Beer Lover’s Choice 2011.

Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

Aroma: maple, beer. Appearance: dark brown, thin white head. Taste: malty, ash, honey, nut, Feel: a little flat, Ok...maple is just right, but pecan is muted. Maybe that’s for the better as too much pecan would bitter this too much.

Mild chocolate maple aroma with hint of nuts in background. Deep brown black color. Light film of a head. Mild bitterness with clean finish with a hint of cocoa.

Nice smell nutty dark roast. Very little head. Taste porter with chocolate notes, coffee, nutty guess the maple is in there as well. Full bodied nice hop bite in finish. Well put together similar to the long shot hazelnut brown of so long ago. Well done

12 ounce bottle, best before May 2014. Got this bottle from a friend last weekend. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a dark ruby red/brown color with about a half inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice and sweet, it smells like maple, nuts/pecans, and roasted malt. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also the addition of some caramel, chocolate, coffee and a bit of smokiness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit syrupy and creamy with moderate carbonation. I liked this brew, and if you like sweeter tasting beers then I would recommend it.

Uh oh, this one’s trouble. I smell dark chocolate, coffee, a little cream, just a touch of dark fruits, slight char, and pecan flippin’ pie! This Georgia boy is happy. Tastes are typical, yet powerful, Porter flavors of dark chocolate and coffee up front. Midway, the Pecan Pie pops out pretty aggressively and is followed by a little bit of smokiness, dark fruits, and light dark chocolate bitterness. Excellent balance. If you love Porters and have a sweet tooth, this one is for you. This would never leave my refrigerator if it were available in 6 packs.

Aroma is toffee, nutty, licorice, coffee. Appearance is dark mahogany almost black w small off white head. Taste is sweet malt, nutty, coffee, chocolate, maple, light roast. Very little hop bitterness. Palate is medium. Fairly smooth.Overall not bad. I could use a bit more roast and hop bitterness, it is a bit cloying now.
