Big fluffy head. Big nose. Nice sweetness balanced with earthy hops. Medium amount of spices, not too overwhelming. Nice ginger notes. Good finish. Iím not a Sam Adams fan but I like this one for a change. Xevious (78) - Amarillo, Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2016
This rich dark gingerbread stout entices with the aromas of the holidays. The flavor of gingerbread comes alive, beginning with the smooth sweetness and heartiness of dark roasted malts and a touch of wheat. But itís the intensity and spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, & ginger that add a wicked kick for a jolly playful brew full of merry mischief.
Bottle was an attention getter.
Pours an odd dark, almost black coffee color with a massive creamy head with some lacing. Smells strongly of wheat and roasted malts with a gingery bready smell.
Taste? Bready, spicy cinnamon with ginger and nutmeg and possibly a dahs of molasses. Finishes kind of odd.
Overall itís a fine holiday specialty brew thatís perfect for a cold snap! raymow (1602) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 2, 2016

Opaque black in color with a small reddish/tan head. Sweet spice cake with hints of Allspice and Cardamom, very tasty. Reminds me of the gourmet lollipops from Seeís Candy. Warming alcohol, nice mouth feel, lightly sticky sweet. Iím enjoying this! The 9% is well masked but noticeable in the warming finish. sistinas (108) - Mountain View, California, USA - DEC 24, 2015
22 oz bottle. Pours almost black. Aroma of pumpkin pie spices, ginger, graham crackers, molasses. Flavor is on the sweeter side with the spices being prominent, somewhat bitter aftertaste. Weird mouthfeel - kind of thick but with a little too much carbonation for my taste. Masks the high ABV pretty well. Not a bad holiday beer, not great. magsinva (1241) - Virginia, USA - DEC 23, 2015
Tap @ Brixx Asheville Biltmore Park - pours pitch with a tan head. Aroma is ginger, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. What I like about this stout is that itís balanced well with the base stout. It does give the feeling of gingerbread without being a ginger bomb. Very good! tsd08460 (1135) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - DEC 23, 2015

Bomber bottle picked up at the local Wegmans. A somewhat aggressive pour gave a two finger + head, which is fairly slow to dissipate. Very heavy, thick lacing. Served well chilled in a tulip glass. Beer is very dark, close to black. Head is light to medium tan. Aroma is pleasant and malty with significant notes of winter spices. Some breadiness in the aroma. Taste is lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Notes of roasted malts, some gingerbread and pleasant spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spices are present yet well embedded. Smooth roasty finish. Medium bodied beer with a slick texture and light carbonation. Over all highly impressed with the complexity and balance of this beer from Sam Adams. Lots of flavor yet well balanced and smooth. Heavy lacing remains in glass.
