New name: Merry Maker. Not sure why they changed it. It is delicious! Dark, smooth, slightly roasted, spices, not as much ginger. Reminds me of the Fat Jack. Definitely worthy of 4 stars. I will be drinking this throughout the cold season for sure! Number 53 in my Sam Adams Collection.

I really like this brew. Part of a Costco sampler. Well flavored and goes down warm and toasty. Nice brew. Great winter brew. warhawk91 (302) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Bomber, 2012 bottle. Pour is deep black nice milk chocolate head with a tinge of orange. Head retention and lacing pretty good for the ABV. Smell is strong gingerbread, cinnamon, allspice, caramel. Softer notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar, gingerbread with nutmeg and cinnamon and background coffee and chocolate. You get some if the coffee bitterness on the back end, ginger stays on the front a bit longer and actually finishes pretty clean. An interesting take on an imperial stout, lots if flavor without being too overbearing. Would definitely drink again.

October 6, 2013 - bottle shared by Brandon. Dark brown pour with tan head that faded quickly. Aroma was strong clove and cinnamon. Taste was consistent with aroma, but also had some roasted malt. This was a year old, so could be a case where it is better fresh.

Opaque black beer with a big tan head. Airy palate with fine carbonation. Quite light. Rich cake flavours here! Ginger cake and Golden Syrup cake! Mild minerals. Just a touch of dark malts in the background. Slight lactose. Not bad at all but couldn’t drink loads.
Pours very dark brown body, almost black, with a thick, tan head. Foam lasted nicely, leaving some lace ribbons down the side of the glass.
Smell has a nice opening shot of gingerbread, and other spices. Roasted, dark malts with some sweetness, nice Christmas spiciness.
Taste is one of a classic sweet stout to start. Solid, toasted malt base, the come the extra flavors of gingerbread, dark chocolate or cocoa, molasses.
Medium bodied mouthfeel, low to medium carbonation, smooth and creamy.
A unique spice blend, gingerbread definatley comes through. Might be a bit too much if one were to consume the entire bottle - but works great to share.

Bottle from BevMo, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a decent tan ead and a ginger and treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied dark molasses flavor with modest ginger flavoring. The spices are appropriate rather than overwhelming. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a creamy tan head that leaves sporadic lacing down the glass. Aroma is potent ginger bread, rich, spicy. Full flavored, rich clove sweetness and ginger in the finish. Dry roasty, nutty. Reynolds314 (3472) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 27, 2013
Pretty nice beer. Pours a thinner then expected black pour with beige head. Aroma is gingerbread cookies, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cocoa. Taste is lightly sweet up front with a medium sweet finish. I like it.
