Pours black with a decent deep tan head that slowly fades away. Aroma of, well, gingerbread. Really rather spot on there. The flavor is similar, but the spice hits just a bit too hard, particularly the nutmeg and clove. Not bad, but if you were going to get that spicy, it would have needed a lot more body to cover for it. OntBeerDrinker (514) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 27, 2012
Big brown head black beer. Smells of spice and chocolate. The chocolate is more there then the spice’s when it’s cold, but when it gets warmer its the other way aropund. aslo some hop bit, site’s heavy with a strong 9% felt. Gets me buzzed. Seem;s more like a chocolate stout with spice’s/ Good but not great., Stout fan. Cool Label cheer’s! drjay44 (3709) - Salida, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2012
650 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, beige head, with some lacing, over a clear, dark brown (SRM 35) body....nose is ginger, heavy molasses, slight clove.....taste is ginger, heavy molasses, clove, light brown sugar, hints of nutmeg, clove, very light cinnamon heat, finishing with a slightly harsh spice melange....mouth feel medium, sticky, slightly astringent, carbonation low, after the exuberant lasting head. The spices, while used judiciously, are dominant in this beer, except for the heavily roasted malts. This is, in essence, a bunch of gingerbread, dumped into a vat of a light Russian Imperial Stout or, more likely, because of the heavy molasses aroma and flavor, Baltic Porter. pours nearly black with brown head. aroma is almost entirely gingerbread spices - mostly nutmeg and cloves - although some wheat and maybe anise sneak into the background, too. taste is immediate ginger, dark bread, and some molasses. starts fairly sweet but the finish is spicy and surprisingly bitter and astringent, with a strong lingering aftertaste (anise and cinnamon/spice?) that i did not find pleasant. 22oz bottle. Pours jet black color with a thin brown head that falls to a ring. Smell of banana bread, fruit cake, gingerbread, cloves, nutmeg, coffee, and a hint of cinnamon. Initial taste of banana bread followed by a brief appearance of ginger, cloves, and cherries. Finishes with dark roasted malt with a strong flavor of gingerbread and notes of cinnamon and nutmeg with a bit of alcohol warmth. Full bodied, smooth, and silky. Nice amount of carbonation.

On tap at T&P courtesy FRATTOOOOOOO. Pours a deep brown with a ring of tan head. Aroma of sweet Christmas bread with a touch of ginger. Tastes about the same. Red Hot Chili Peppers will never change. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - DEC 26, 2012
On tap at T&P. Dark pour with a small brown head. Aroma is dark candy, chocolate, and baking spice. Taste is heavy ginger, astringent, chocolate, and a heavy spice finish. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle:   Nearly black, large frothy dark beige head, nice lacing.   Bright cinnamon/nutmeg spices, also a strong gingerbread cookie aroma.   Super strong.   A bit of a pine like foresty flavor profile, along with the aformentioned gingerbread.   The heavy spices attack the back of the throat, almost seems to burn a bit.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish is strong with spices, and loads of gingerbread.   Can be a bit overwhelming at times. Nice tan foamy head with flat dull black appearance. Smells strongly of clove and nutmeg with a bit of sweetness, not bad. Tastes of spices and sweet malt, definitely a lot of cinnamon in there. A bit over-carbonated at the beginning and dry/bitter on the end. It’s decent and you definitely warm up to it after you get used to the cinnamon overkill.
