22oz bottle, batch 1, mostly to myself. Black color, good thick lighter brown head. Decent / respectable lace. Really nice nose - definitely gingerbread. Medium to bigger body. Kind of a milky / creamy texture. Light carbonation, more dry. Bitter taste, little sweet, little bite. Love the rich, cake-like aroma in this. Very reminiscent of a gingerbread cookie. Some vanilla. Sweet aftertaste. Really interesting and unique beer. blipp (9903) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Bottle. Pours near black with a thin head. Sweet malts, ginger, cinnamon, ginger bread, and lighter roasted malty notes. Pretty good balance of stout and spice. bb (9790) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle. Blackish beer with a brown head. Ginger and light mollasses aroma with rich malt. Toffee and ginger flavor with light spice. Medium bodied. Toffee and ginger lingers with light spice and malt. arminjewell (9727) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Pour out of 500 mL bottle, dark thick oily black pour with nice creamy mocha colored head, lots of carbonation streaming at first but subsided. Aroma brought notes of nice ginger, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted malts, hints of earth, touch of grainy notes, tiny bit of cookie notes. Taste is basically a spiced stout, some fairly nice roast, coffee, and dark chocolate tones mix with some slight earthy ginger, cinnamon, and clove, some slight caramel, grainy tones, finishing fairly sweet but dries out with the roast at the end. The mouthfeel was pretty nice, but was just slightly lacking in depth. Very tasty, and no sign of the 9%. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - MAR 7, 2013
3/8/13. 22oz bottle from Warehouse ages ago. Rich black pour, maybe some browns and reds under the light, with a nice tan head that cuts in half but coats the glass. Huge cinnamon aroma with bits of ginger, nutmeg, all-spice, molasses, etc. Not my cup of tea. I hate spiced beers. However. Boom. The flavor is... weirdly dead on. Spiced ginger, cinnamon, Christmas spices, burnt molasses, and more pretty dead on gingerbread aspects with a touch of roast. Meh aroma, good flavor. Yum.

Had this as Merry Mischief Gingerbread Stout last time it was out. The bottle pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of dark roasted malts, chocolate, ginger, graham cracker and wintery spiciness. The taste is pretty big and rich with plenty of cinnamon and ginger and nutmeg and cloves to create a wintery cinnamon graham cracker to ginger snap cookie like sensation that rides on top of murmurs of roasted malts, sweet malts and chocolate. Pretty nice. jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Bottle at clockwork’s dec 8th 2012 tasting. Pours a dark body with no head. Aroma is spicy with notes of cinnamon and malts. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of cinnamon, sweet malts, light crust and faint booze. radagast83 (8624) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Poured a dark brown, almost black color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was spiced gingerbread notes, touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Some lightly burnt malts. Some earthy hop character came out in this one as well. In a pinch this one is a decent holiday brew, though the Hardywood one we had just prior to this one was hard to beat. jackl (8555) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 19, 2014
Sample @ Bier Baron. Deep brown with a small head. Aroma of chocolate and ginger snap cookie. Strong ginger. Brown sugar. Flavor is a little more nuanced than the frankly blunt aroma suggests. Mellow coffee and roasted pepper. Caramel wafers. Slightly spicy peppered ginger finish. Medium body, soft carb. SudsMcDuff (8541) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - NOV 12, 2012
