This is pretty smooth. Some nice malty characters and chewiness. Actually very good and quite sessionable to me. I really liked this. LKT1983 (112) - Benton, Kentucky, USA - MAY 30, 2012
This is a great ale. Nice rich color, dark copper like; aroma is deep, the oak is very pleasant and the finish is good. Def. a top choice if you can find it when it’s available. Duhast500 (414) - Cumberland, Rhode Island, USA - AUG 27, 2014
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a dimpled mug.
The color is a deep orange/gold with a finger of foamy brownish head and some thick lacing left on the glass.
The smell is oaky with some sweet malt flavor that is right behind that nice woody aroma that is right in the nose first. There is a spicy bit of aroma as well and it has a slight caramel flavor.
The taste is big butterscotch and is almost like candy as it comes down. There is some nice sweet honey flavor as well that seems to lay down on the tongue and helps the oak flavor slide down and makes this taste just delicious.
This beer has such a smooth feel that is goes down easy even thought there is a bit of a punch that was not expected. A real jem from Boston Beer. rjplumer (1091) - Foxboro, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Sweet malt aroma. Clear deep amber color. Apple vanilla caramel taste With a hint of smokiness. Crisp and clean to the finish. Very enjoyable. Has a nice zing to the tongue. Best from S.A. since Octoberfest. This one really blows me away. I’ll be returning to this one for sure. Palidor19 (3188) - Brandon, Florida, USA - FEB 1, 2012
solid all the way,has a nice rich taste with nutty and caramel malty goodness. the hops are ever so slight with a touch of pine. the beer is smooth with a sharp bite at the end and mighty strong .

This beer does not seem to get very well ratings but in my opinion it is a very good beer! the beer pours a light amber with a small frothy head. the aroma is a sweet vanilla, some caramel and slight oak. The taste is lots of oak, roasty, slight sweetness and very easy to drink. efecher (70) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - APR 11, 2012
Delicious oak ale from the Spring collection. Very evident oak flavors from the aging and hints of floral and vanilla. Wouldn’t mind picking this up in a 6-pack keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - FEB 19, 2012

A: Clear dark amber with a light tan head.
S: Sweet caramel and vanilla mostly, it’s warm an inviting perfect for a chilly night.
T: Sweet caramel and vanilla with slight oak hints towards the end. Really solid beer here I enjoyed greatly.
M: Medium bodied with slightly sharp carbonation.
O: This is a solid beer, I like the balance to it here and honestly the only thing keeping me from giving this a slightly higher end-rating is due to it only being available in variety 12 packs.
Golden in color. Earthy and malty it tastes and drinks more like a lager than an ale. Very nice brew

12oz bottle. Brewfest oak aroma. Medium bodied. Dulled filtered amber color. Thin glass lacing beige head. Really does let the oak shine, the vanilla-caramel smooths out the fruity amber malt. Credit given where credit is due, they really nailed this one, the session oak: future style.
