Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Yoav. Clear golden. Aroma has citric hops, kinda stale, and light oxidation notes. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt and a mild hop bitterness, a bit stale. Medium-bodied. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 27, 2013
12oz bottle. Crystal clear apple juice body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, light peach, bread. Taste is moderately sweet, orange/grapefruit, some peach, light bread. Soft light-medium body. MacBoost (1894) - Victor, New York, USA - APR 26, 2013
Holy shit is this garbage juice. Literally. Sweet corn flavored water that came out of a dumpster behind the golden coral. mcox90 (2088) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - APR 25, 2013
12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy light gold with a 1 finger white head. Minor lace. Weak aroma of biscuity malt & foral hops. Flavor is semi sweet with more biscuit followed by some mild pine resin. Thin palate. Not a lot going on here. If this is the beer that started the craft beer movement, than it’s a wonder it got off the ground. Boston Lager is way better. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle. Pours semi cloudy yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of lemon, light malt, sweet bread and mild grassy/spicy hops. Lighter bodied.

Clear-golden color with soft white head. Sweet bready aroma with some light orange/orange-peel aroma. Light bodied, lightly sweet-bread with some of that orange/orange-peel character.
A nice idea and Im glad they did this project...not a bad beer, but such a defined SA malt character shows through that it makes me believe that this is far from the original taste. ryanscourt (1471) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 18, 2013
Orange. Sweet smelling hops. Not much bitterness in body. Mostly sweet flavors that don’t last too long. Fairly enjoyable but fairly short, lacking a long lasting palate. Overall I liked it, though its a little bit of an unfulfilling experience. Ashandari (5) - - APR 17, 2013 does not count
This brew was almost indistinguishable from PBR. If this is how they brewed it in the ’Old Days’ then I’m glad we live in the modern era. Ernest (7693) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 16, 2013
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with light notes of DMS, celery, ammonia, detergent.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean.
Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
How incredibly insulting to Jack. All kinds of off notes in the nose (smells like swill lager to be completely honest, there’s nothing attractive about it other than some faint hops), and it’s ridiculously syrupy sweet and dirty in the mouth. It blows my mind that this was considered acceptable, much less good. At least Sierra Nevada’s Jack and Ken’s brew was decent, this is truly repulsive.
