Bottle from Total Wine, Naples. The pour’s slightly hazy deep gold with a small white head. The nose is light grassy hops, some toasted white bread, shortbread, some golden apple. The taste is more apple, some toasty doughy pale malt, light grass. Crisp finish. Slightly watery light body. Overall, this tastes not unlike many of the heavily hopped lagers that are pretty popular these days. An interesting piece of beer history. vyvvy (6481) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Pours clear light golden with a large white head. The aroma has citrusy hops, fairly sweet malt with light toast, some breadiness and a hint of fruit. It has a mediu, / light crisp body with gentle frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with some creamy maltiness, cotton, toasted malt and some cellar must. The finish has pine, dry citrus and some rough earthiness. Decent APA. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAR 28, 2013
The appearance combines a few elements: a golden color, a slightly hazy opaqueness, active bubbles, and a foamy, medium-sized, white head. Also, the aroma of the beer is subtle with hints of dough yeast and citrus hops. The taste, although quite muted, is mildly sour, slightly bitter, and slightly sweet; also, the palate has a medium body, thick texture, abrupt finish, and an average carbonation, which is a bit of a weird combination without being too off-putting. r464 (2360) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Sweet, nutty malt up front with a caramel like flavor. Balanced hops comes in to play with a bit of bitterness in the finish. Not a standout pale ale, however. Lacking a certain punch. jsquire (4492) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAR 27, 2013
Dull gold color out of the bottle with a thin, short lived white head. Faint malt nose with some hop notes. Very lively on the tongue. Corn sweetness with some coarse bread and lemon peel in the finish. I’m curious as to how close to the original this beer is, because this is not that impressive.

Flavor is mildly hoppy and bitter up front, fruity, peach with a mildly bitter grain, malty finish. Moderate carbonation, light body, and crisp texture. Drinkable. A decent, light, mildly fruity pale ale. falco242 (398) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Nothing special with the pour, and almost no head from the bottle. Aroma is light and a touch hoppy. Really light pale hop flavor with a nice touch of malt. Not very bitter at all either. Decent. SanfordBrewer (1576) - Sanford, Florida, USA - MAR 24, 2013
translucent golden straw with a dense white head. creamy medium body with medium carbonation.bytemesis (8438) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 24, 2013
aroma: pale malt (has the graininess of basic u.s. 2-row and the doughiness of pilsner malt), noble-hop bitterness, and salty german-like minerality. very clean yeast character.
taste: clean pale malt, doughy saltiness that is very german-tasting to me, clean noble-hop bitterness, and no notable yeast esters or phenols.
really not what i was expecting, but very good. in a blind tasting, i would think this is a german helles brewed in a town with softer water like weltenberg.
