Distinct taste of lemon right up front - not at all objectionable. Traditional European pils taste hides subtly in the background. Couldn’t detect it at first for the lemony attack. Lacing is extraordinary for a pils, and the body is much more robust as well. Not a bad pilsener at all. Much more character than most I’ve tried. Very refreshing after a winter (its very springlike here in NM today) of heavy IPAs. Nice playoff football watching quaff, for sure.
2009 Beer Lover’s Choice Contestant - Sample A. Similar to a traditional Czech Pilsner, our Samuel Adams Pils is brewed with a blend of 5 Noble Hop varieties from each of the world’s only remaining Noble Hop growing regions. The spicy, herbal and citrus hop character is well balanced by the Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt, adding honeyed malt character and full body without sweetness.
Golden color with a very mild favor.

Bottle in Seattle. From the mixed pack. White lingering head, quite clear gold. Grassy, earthy hop aroma. Warm, creamy malt backbone isn’t impressive or able to carry the hops very well. Honey, herbs and grassy hops in the flavor. A little coating sweet with a fair bittering finish. Not great. Chadhami (138) - - APR 28, 2017
Pretty darn tasty for a pilsner. Darker in color and a little more flavor than expected. donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - FEB 24, 2017

Pours a golden yellow color with a white head. Floral, hop, grass and biscuit aroma and flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Floral, grass and hop finish. Clean and flavorful, very nice. brewdo (1) - ROCHESTER HILLS, Michigan, USA - FEB 3, 2017 does not count
Nice , Strohs like . Just a nice smooth pilsner with great body and a slight malt tickle! Love it. gripweed57 (2462) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - JAN 28, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Label says 4.9% ABV. Bright brassy gold color. Medium sized frothy white head. A fine looking beer. Aroma has notes of honey malt and citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet malt with honeyish notes. Midtaste brings grassy hops with a hint of lemongrass. Slightly tart, dry finish has peppery notes. Overall, a tasty Pils with complex flavor. (12oz bottle) AROMA: I was expecting more here. english muffin, dough, some floral/perfume, touch of herbs/coriander, cloves, spice. fragrant laundry detergent (mostly in a good way). APPEARANCE: gold yellow, clear, a bit light with the head that quickly recedes to a some clinginess, ok carbonation. Can force a larger head with a hard pour. TASTE: good lager taste. Falls short of what I normally think of as a Czech Pils. Sweet corn up front. a little bit of smokiness and coffee in the middle, tobacco/toast, green, herbal, spicey/sharp. PALATE: light-medium in body, sharp, fresh, clean, decent lingering bitterness. OVERALL: This is actually a very good lager, but for some reason, I was expecting it to WOW me. Pretty good balance (in fact so balanced that nothing specific really standouts with respect to malt and flavor and hops), very drinkable, not too light, not too heavy, the more I drank the better it got. euniceradio (537) - Worthington, Minnesota, USA - JAN 26, 2017
12oz bottle to tulip. Pours clear gold with white sticky head. Aroma of lemongrass, light pine, citrus blossom, floral, slightly metallic, green tea. Taste of same with light peppering. Some honey per style. Not so much cracker. Malt is perceived heavier than style but can’t put my finger on the bready profile.
