2009 Beer Lover’s Choice Contestant - Sample A. Similar to a traditional Czech Pilsner, our Samuel Adams Pils is brewed with a blend of 5 Noble Hop varieties from each of the world’s only remaining Noble Hop growing regions. The spicy, herbal and citrus hop character is well balanced by the Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt, adding honeyed malt character and full body without sweetness.

A very fine pilsner. 12 oz. bottle to Samuel Adams lager glass. Pours light honey with medium head that lasts just a tad longer than most, with spotty lacing. I got nice hops aromas of citrus and grass, some bread but rather inconspicuous. Good pils taste--hops do their job nicely. Creamy texture with a very dry finish--arid. Please sir, may I have another? Ein prosit!

For a Pilsener, this is great. Judging by style it has little to the nose as most of this style do, to me anyway. Taste is great with hops blending with malts a perfectly.

Clear medium gold, small white head. Nose is floral/herbal hops. Floral/herbal/spicy hop aromas stand out, moderate malt backbone. Light tartness, light sweetness, medium bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 Darker and heavier than the standard pils. The patch cap leaves very little lace. Aroma is bright, slightly floral, grass and hints of bready malts. Flavor is the same with the malts picking up, a slight touch of alcohol in the backside.

Pours a clear gold with a very long lasting head and lacing. Aroma is grassy. Taste is slightly bitter pine, grass, citrus, and a bit of bread. Crisp and refreshing, but not overly tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very beautiful label so a plus on the marketing side. Very pleasant earthy aroma that would be reminiscent of running through a wheat field as a child. Very smooth texture and a pleasant almost grassy aftertaste that dances around your tongue for roughly a minute. Nothing I would consider a life changer, but I wouldn't mind if I woke up with this beer in my bed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crisp and clean. Not overwhelmingly hoppy or floral. I suppose that’s the “dignified” part of the description. Hops and malt balance. I get melon and biscuit rather than anything flowery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is light floral hops with a bready pils malt base. The flavor is fairly light on the bitterness with a clean and fairly dry malt backbone. The hops are fresh and floral with a short finish. Pretty easy drinking and thirst quenching with a light body and soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent, bug not up with the best of PA pilsners available. 3/7/7/3/13

12 oz bottle poured, gifted by luttonm, and poured into my SA Noble Pils glass. Rarely do I get to drink a beer in it’s own glass at home. Clean and clear golden pour, with a thin oily head. A solid pils here, and one of the better offerings from these guys in recent memory. Very flavorful pilsener, with plenty of soft bready like malts, and cool, juicier hops. Clean and cool finish. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle in Seattle. From the mixed pack. White lingering head, quite clear gold. Grassy, earthy hop aroma. Warm, creamy malt backbone isn’t impressive or able to carry the hops very well. Honey, herbs and grassy hops in the flavor. A little coating sweet with a fair bittering finish. Not great.

Pretty darn tasty for a pilsner. Darker in color and a little more flavor than expected.
