This ancient Finnish-style brew dates back to the 1500s as one of the oldest continuously brewed styles. Deep amber in color, this rugged brew’s distinctive aroma and flavor comes from aging on a bed of juniper berries. The herbal, woodsy, and ripe citrus character of the juniper enlivens a sturdy and smooth malt backbone for a fresh and flavorful brew. At Samuel Adams we love experimenting, This series of limited edition brews represents some of our favorite small batch creations.

Almost berry flavor. But without tasting like a fruit beer. Very quality beer. Again Sam Adams proves for a nationally distributed beer they stand above the rest

A clear light brown colored beer, with a thick foamy off white head. The aroma of fresh fruits, berries with malts and notes of spices. The taste of fruits like berries, with some caramel, spices and laurel. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitter.

Bomber bottle from Giant Eagle in Sewickley, PA. Small batch creations like this should really deliver the exotics and in this case I was underthrilled. Rather weak on body and too strong on the juniper. There was absolutely nothing to catch the tongue or to ponder -- the beer spoke for itself in undertones.

This is one of the finest juniper brews I have ever had. If you made this in 12oz, 12 packs ,I would get one or two ever week. Truth! WyrdWill

translucent dark red amber with a foamy yellow beige head.
slightly sticky medium-full body with medium-high carbonation.

aroma: juniper, astringent minerality.

taste: juniper and spice, caramel malt. does not have the odd bread yeast character i was expecting.

reminds me of home-brewed pumpkin beers.

Oh, never had a Sahti beer that I liked and this doesn’t change things. Why do people make this shit? Pours tawny with a dead head. Smells of, of, well not much of anything. Medium full nectar with good carbonation. A fat malt backbone implodes spewing it’s herbal innards outward rendering the user aghast. It’s like Listerine and beer in a bottle. Not a good beer by any measure.

(draught) medium amber, soapy tab bubbles. Nose of Juniper, biscuit, herbal, light caramel. Taste is herbal, juniper, twigs, oily and estery. An odd beer but unique.

Soft red pour, medium head. Funky aroma that I dont much care for but the taste is truly something you gotta try. Fizzy with fruity and sage notes. Full bodied but not too heavy.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark red with a long lasting, off-white head. Aroma is of bready, caramel malt, juniper and hints of grassy hops and dark fruit. Body is full, smooth and creamy. Taste is juniper, dark fruit, bready and caramel malt, spicy, grassy hops. Finish is long and spicy. Interesting, unusual brew.

Bottle. Copper beer with a light tan head. Malt and caramel aroma with light juniper. Caramel and light toffee flavor with juniper, light spice, and light salt. Medium bodied. Caramel and light toffee lingers with oak, spice, and light juniper.
