draft at Coles, Buffalo, NY. darker brown/ black pour. Dried fruits/ raisins fill aroma, seems to be an absence of roasted malts & oak in the aroma. Hints of dark chocolate as its warming. Flavor is sweet maltiness, some mild roast. little chocolate. Ok Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - JUL 12, 2011
On tap - Ginger Man Plano.
Muddy brown pour with very little beige head. Typical Porter aromas of coffee and roasted malt - was hoping there would be more oak. Same goes for the flavor. I could barely tell this was oak aged - some slight tannins. Flavors of vanilla, roasted malt, and some chocolate. A bit thin and lacking in flavor and aroma. Not terrible by any means but not great either.

On tap at gingerman plano. Pours dark amber/almost black with a thin light tan head. The aromas are coffee, chocolate, bread and oak. The mouthfeel is watery, bitter and smoke with a medium body. It wasn’t great but it was ok. Cheers! MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 10, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2011 Aroma of a roasted and chocolate malts and a hint of wood.
Mild oak taste, but mostly dry roast, chocolate nuts, and vanilla. The finish was dry and gritty.
Resampled at Newtown Brewfest 2011. Much better closey22 (1972) - Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA - JUN 9, 2011
Nicely done sammy! Lost points on aroma but scored on eveything else. True porter roastiness but medium on the palate. Finishes dry, long, malty. Hints of choc. This is good. Try it!

As Barrel-Aged Porter at Timothy O’Toole’s on draft. Pours an ugly brown with a minimal head. Nose is okay and vanilla with some cocoa notes. A touch of lactic in there as well. On taste, oak tannins are quite present, as is a vanilla booze component. Pretty one note and not very good... beergodd1 (400) - Conneaut, Ohio, USA - MAY 27, 2011
4 oz. Sample at the Cleveland Beer Fest on 5/14/11. Pours a clear brown/black with a thin beige head, left a ring around my "Plastic" cup. Malty/Oak smell with hints of chocolate, roast and Coffee. Malty flavor with just a bit of chocolate and a slight Oak, not enough barrel character. Medium body. This was a tasty beer, but seemed to be ....not finished? Sample at the Cleveland International Beer Fest on 5/14/11. Pours a clear darkest brown/black with a thin beige head. Malty nose with hints of chocolate, roast and dark fruit. Malty flavor with just a bit of chocolate and roast, with even less barrel character. Could use a lot more of everything that’s in there to give it some nose and flavor. This poured a medium brown color with an off white head. Aroma was medium roasted malts, very light chocolate, and not much else. Taste was very bland, no barrel character at all, just a watery porter. Eehh.
