Drank with Liedewij while talking in our garden (before Dave interrupted) 21-9-16. Rich taste for such a low ABV beer. Good one.

Pours a black with a red tinge and a large beige head. Minimal aroma. Sweet choclate and toffee taste.

12 oz bottle pours out a dark brown with a small tan head. Smells of malt sweetness with hints of chocolate and coffee. Refreshing but on the average side. Remember this is a mass produced brew.

Bottle. Pours black with ruby hints, beige head. Nose is earthy and toffee malt. Flavor is the same with a bitter chocolate finish. Not heavy enough on the palate for this style.

On draft, Red Bones. (Secret over night Mass trip) Brown withRed highlights with an earthy aroma. Bready taste, smell a little thin in body. Sweet chocolate taste with some hints of oatmeal and coffee.

On draft. I was happy to find this being offered amongst the various coors and bud offerings at a NE Patriots game. Not one of the better oatmeal stouts I have had but still a stout never the less whicjh makes it OK in my book. Found the taste closer to a chocolate or espresso stout. Also agree with others that it is on the thin side for this style.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with medium tan head. Sweet, malty, coffee aroma. Sweet, chocolatey, bitter finish. Not bad.

RiverHorse (457) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 9, 2007
Sampled on tap at the Boston Beer Company in 2005. Pours a jet black color with a small tan head. The smell was of malt, coffee, espresso and oatmeal. Not bad, a bit watered down for a stout, but enjoyable.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 Its a very average oatmeal stout. I found this to be much more watery then other aotmeal stouts. Not a bad choice however.

Dark, strong aroma. I didn’t care for this beer very much. It was to thick for me. Very bitter. Smelled good.
