Sam Adams always seems to put nice brews just like this one is but... This poured a nice dark brown with a good nutty, yeasty taste. Problem is it's good beer but not much more mediocre when it comes to oatmeal stouts. There are a lot better ones out there you can get without much searching. markas101 (2530) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JAN 10, 2018

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Bottle. Pours black in color with a small beige head. Roasty aroma. Slight sweet flavor with roasted chocolate malt notes. Creamy on the palate. Decent. Jabic (735) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - JAN 2, 2018
Ar: Dusty cocoa, cherry, and slightly burnt caramels; toast. Ap: Black and opaque; medium light tan head with moderate retention, settling into a thin but solid cap of foam with a short trail of foam curtain along the glass sides. T: Medium-low sweetness; char and burnt caramel; coffee and cocoa powder; bitterness is medium-low, with no hop flavor; a bit of red apple and pineapple; ash and more coffee and cocoa on the finish. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation (slightly too high); medium-dry finish. O: An easy-drinking oatmeal stout; carbonation cuts through a bit too much, stealing from the silkiness; but, the flavors are all there and the beer is well-fermented. A black appearance with a beige head. The aroma contains some chocolate, oatmeal cookies, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is rather sweet and milk chocolatey. Is that a word? Very little bitterness going on just mostly milk chocolate. Overall not complex but works for this 20s ish degreee weather. Pershing (595) - Garland, Texas, USA - DEC 25, 2017
Black pour with a lasting beige head. Roasted malt aroma with a light body and dry on the palate. Roasted malt and toffee is also present. Dry finish.
