COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Bottle. Pours clear medium amber with a thick 2 finger light tan head that results in spotty lacing. The nose is caramel, toffee and light citrus. The taste is caramel malt, fruit and light citrus zest. Medium bodied. OK beer.

12 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour was golden amber with 2 fingers of thick white head. Nose was malt and a bit of spice. Taste was the same, not as sweet as I was expecting though. It’s not a bad beer at all, but pretty generic in all respects.

Bottle. Dark copper pour with small, diminishing head. Aromas of grain, grass, earth, and spice. Flavors of grain, caramel, spice, and a sweet corn note. Consumable. Still has that SA generic/stamped quality but is quite nice.

Skeegle (566) - Maryland, USA - OCT 14, 2009
Nice and malty and I get lots of butterscotch almost, or some sweet nutty taste, like candied cashews? Good beer that’s decent enough on draft to not be disappointed when it’s all they have at a bar.

From the tap poured brown with a small head. Malty flavor with a quick finish.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2010 Draft from Sam Adams Celebrates Cincinnati in concourse A of terminal 3 at CVG. Pours a rich amber color with a small white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, malt, and subtle spice. The flavor improves upon the nose with hops, caramel, grass, a little spice, and a touch of alcohol. It has a light body, and is watery with a bitter finish after some metallic notes. This falls right in line with most other Octoberfests/marzens, competitive with its German counterparts.

Bottle. Not a bad beer. Love the color. Good on a chilly autumns night. I enjoyed it

Light and fruity aroma with some hoppy notes. Light body and not much of a finish.

espenra (1016) - Kurland, NORWAY - DEC 17, 2009
33cl bottle. Best before 2010-06. From a friend. It poured a golden orange colour with a medium big white foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of almonds and caramel. Flavour is malty. Notes of caramel, almonds and brown sugar. Short aftertaste.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2011 Bottle, tap. Clear amber pour, white head. Malt and caramel aroma and taste. Easy drinking, but not spectacular.
