COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Bottle from mix pack. Pours orange with minimal foam. Smells sweet of brown sugar and a hint of hazelnut. Tastes mildly sweet with a fair amount of body and a surprising resemblance to spice cake.

No aroma to speak of. Has a mild bitterness to balance out the spices, and I like that. Unfortunately there isn’t much else to the beer, but it’s better than I was expecting.

Bottle. Pours mahogany in color with thin white head that dissipates. Mild carbonation over roasted malt aromas. Malty and caramely, typical of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating based on notes from some time ago... On tap at King’s Head Pub in Winnipeg. Very nice deep amber colour with a thin head. Banana and caramel on the nose, with a medium-sweet taste and malty flavours. A bit simple, and maybe a bit thin. A solid Octoberfest beer, but nothing special.

Octoberfest bottle gives a very good pumpkin colored head and a very nice amber body. A little weak in flavor but very drinkable.
