Reddish-brown color. Tastes and smells very much like a brown ale, but a bit more complex. Flavor of Chocolate and Caramel. Decent lacing on glass. Flavor is nice blend of malt and spices. changxao (104) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 30, 2004
One of the best beers from the Boston Beer Company, too bad it only come in the winter sampler. Good nose and good head. Flavor is complex with caramel, cinnamon, chocolate, and hints of other flavors. Slightly bitter aftertaste overall a good beer. mbeem (104) - New Hope, Alabama, USA - DEC 24, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2006 Bottle. Not a bad seasonal from Sam Adams. Poured a nice dark ruby into the glass with a minimal light tan head. Nose of cinnamon, malts, yeast, sweet stollen and banana nut bread. Unfortunately the taste didn’t keep what was promised to the nose. Malts, some orange peel, spices (mainly ginger). Still it was a decent brew! Merry Christmas! partywithanM (103) - Kansas City, Kansas, USA - NOV 21, 2013
12 oz bottle. I love this seasonal brew. Light and refreshing. Hints of spice. Check it out if you like a slightly heavier heffe weisen flavor. KSS (102) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - DEC 15, 2005
Nice brown color, like a well worn penny. Nice size head that lasts with good lacing. Orange, spice and bread aromas. Nice spicey, sweet flavor with hints of orange, ginger and cinnamon. My favorite Christmas beer so far.

Fruity spice sent and ruby red color with a medium tan head. Spice and hop flavor that is suprisingly good. I think this is one of Sam Adam's best beers. winterlager (101) - Orchard Park, New York, USA - NOV 27, 2003
Nice spicy aroma...lots of scents are captured. This is one of the better selections in the winter pack. But you really would only want the 2 you get in the pack!!! michaeltrego (101) - Amherst, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 2, 2004
Great balance of spice, hop and malt. I like this beer, but somehow can only bring myself to drink one or two every season. Oh well, I guess that's why they call it a seasonal... beergirl99 (101) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 10, 2001
I rather like Old Fezziwig. I miss it. It is hoppy and spicy...quite pleasant in my opinion. bhenry76 (101) - Landenberg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2001
Nice holiday beer. Complex flavors: malty, fruity, caramel throughout. .....
