COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spicy and bold, a big Christmas cookie of a beer. Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale is bursting with spices of the season. With a remarkably full body and flavor it helps those long winter nights pass more quickly. The rich taste hits the palate with a depth of malt character ranging from sweet toffee and caramel notes to dark, roasty chocolate notes. Then the spices come in full force. Cinnamon, ginger and orange peel dance on the tongue bringing with them the celebratory spirit of the season.

Malt, orange, and cinnamon? aroma. Deep reddish amber color with a persistent light tan head. Starts with a burst of cinnamon and perhaps nutmeg, a bit of citrus. Mouthfeel is better than thin. Really quite good, though Im not sure I detect the ginger mentioned on the label. The chocolate is probably there, but the cinnamon mutates it. I dont know how to describe the finish. All of the above? Theres a slight bite in the finish, and that could be the ginger. Good stuff.

Brown ale with nice reddish hues, and a thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel, cinnamon, ginger and lemony notes. In mouth, nice sweet caramel malt, coriander and oranges. Like a light bodied belgian brown ale. I tought this was quite good. Bottle is one yr old.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Alraomon. Thanks! Pours a clear ruby red color with a medium eggshell aroma, moderate retention and nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, citrus and spice. Lots of orange peel and some green apple. Taste is fruity, again with the citrus and green apple, with some subtle bitter notes and caramel malts. Medium bodied.
