3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Pours a chestnut body with a beige-colored head.
Smell: Some caramel, some chocolate, with cinnamon, and a bit of ginger.
Taste: Light chocolate taste with some toasted bread and a caramel sweetness. Spicy, with hints of cinnamon, and ginger. Finishes with the spices lingering into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A solid beer from Sam Adams Box. Great for the winter.
I had low expectations from the wording on the label; "Spicy and bold"...didn't sound appealing to me. It ended being a very good...not sure what category...but it's a nice beer. Nutty with a bit of cinnamon mad for an interesting taste. thebeerbandit (38) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2017

Had with Abby at mammy’s waiting on our teriyaki order.
Pours beautiful deep brown with a tan head and plenty of bubbles.
Smell is delicious dark nutty/spicy malt.
Taste follows smell with moderate bitterness, lots of dark malt.
Palate is medium and smooth.
Overall a delicious warm malt beers mb and excellent winter beer! andrewje41 (4521) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2017
12 oz bottle poured. Festive beer. Seemed fitting. Reddish copper pour. Aroma is full of bready malt and holiday spices. Flavor starts out metallic, and leads tonsome cinnamon like spice, orange, and hints of chocolate. Both bold and sweet at the same time. Biting spice finish. Okay. Dark amber with a lasting beige head. sweet malt aroma with medium body with some spices. Slight bitter finish. The old label looked better but Sam Adams had to stay true to form...i.e. change the good to bad then re-tweak again...rinse and repeat. Larry_Duffman (618) - - DEC 16, 2017
I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours reddish brown with a nice, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, cinnamon, spice, and orange. The taste is the same with some fruity notes. It's smooth and tasty. I prefer this over the Winter Lager. This is a solid Christmas beer.

Pours mahogany with medium head. Aroma is toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is sweetbread, moving to spice, with a nutmeg finish. A darned good holiday ale. BarelyCynical (27) - - DEC 2, 2017

Just an ok brew by Sam Adams here. Crisp and full bodied, another swig beer in my opinion, simply because flavor isn't delicious enough to chug. Enjoyable still though.
