COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Golden color with light head. The lemony flavor is overpowering the other fruity undertones.

Bottle. Pours yellow gold with white head. Nose/taste of lemon and light white sugar. Not much else going on. Light bodied.

The lemon flavoring in this beer works better than most flavorings. It goes nicely with the malt, but the low hops taste doesn’t help. It is a light beer, designed for thirst quenching, not savoring a good naturally flavored brew.

DarkSong (374) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - JUN 8, 2014
It pours a pale golden color with a small white head. It has a skunky aroma and smells of lemon and malt. It has a nice lemon taste to it which goes well with the beer. Very refreshing and tasty. I’d love to buy this again.

RONCOD (247) - Uledi, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2014
Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head. Nice citrus aroma. The taste was like a light lemonade. Very refreshing beer.

As far as summer shandys go its a solid one. Seems built more for mass appeal and super drinkability.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of lemon and malt. Golden with barely a head. Big lemonade flavor backed by malt. Having had radler/shandy style before in Europe, this seems true to the style.

Bottle. This has a pretty mild flavor for a shandy. It wasn’t too sweet. Pretty light malt flavor. Not bad if you are in the mood for a shandy.

Eh, has a bit of a sweet lemon aroma, taste is a bit of a lemon, sweet, some wheat. Kinda thin body, not really my thing
