COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams is currently in the process of brewing up a German style called “radler.” The name radler translates to “cyclist,” A 50/50 (ish) blend of beer and lemonade. (Like a shandy). Perfect for any summer day, Samuel Adams® Porch Rocker was inspired by traditional Bavarian Radlers that mix beer with German-style lemonade. For our bright and citrusy Radler, we blended a Helles beer with lemon for a fresh-squeezed lemon taste, effervescent sweetness, and slightly tart, refreshing finish. A light malt character and hint of hops balance out this summer brew.

Bottle. Clear light yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma and flavor is dominated by lemon with a hint of grass. Watery texture with average carbonation. This is a less offensive version of Summer Shandy....the lemon flavor is there in a big way but at least there is enough of a malt background to give it some characteristics of a beer.

The apearance is golden clear with minimal head. Taste like Sprite with little sugar.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $12.97 (w/ VONS card) for the summer variety 12-pack Purchased: March 25, 2013 Consumed: April 5, 2013 Misc.: Enjoy by Aug. 2013 Poured a honey golden hazy color with two fingers of cream white head that dissipated almost right away. Lots of bubbles in the beginning, but that gave way to the surprisingly murky and not clear look. No lacing on the sides on the way down, very bad retention. Smelled citrus notes, got lemon, lime and peach. Lemon zest and lemon/lime juice. Also some honey and clean, crisp grass hops. Reminded me of the days of cleaning a Mexican restaurant. Just those lemon and limes on the Corona’s and margaritas. Tasted similar to the nose. Sweet lemon and sweet lime. Almost like a sugary, sweet cider or a Zima, but better. I’ll admit this is my first Radler type, but it’s nice and refreshing. Almost like a liquor mix. Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-soft (below average) carbonation. Clean, crisp and refreshing finish. Not a bad beer for the type. Definitely different and definitely good for summer.

Smells like lemon lime soda. Any head that was there has instantly vanished. It tastes like lemons, but is not sour enough to seem convincing. The beer backup flavor is fine. Fake carbonation makes it seem a lot like I’m drinking beer flavored sprite though.

Pours a clear dark yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells like lemon pinesol, lemonade and fruit loops. Palate is basically similar to a carbonated lemonade. Sweet with some tartness

Lemon bomb, very little else, almost tastes like a shandy. Not a big fan of this at all, whoops.

I may have stumbled upon the perfect lawnmower beer. Light and crisp with a great lemony tone, the lemony zing in the finish keeps you coming back for more. You can still taste the beer underneath the lemon, which comes across as very juicy, and not sugary at all. Well done.

Bottle. Pours a clear bright orangish color with a small clear head. Nose is lemony citrus, very effervescent. Palate is clean and crisp with a light bite. quite refreshing. Flavors of lemon and light grassy hop notes.
