Pours clear amber with a fair eggshell head. Aroma delivers rye, woody hop, malty, and subtle fruity notes. Flavor features rye, woody and slightly resinous hops, fresh malt, and tangy citrus tones for a pleasing beer. Body and fizz are good. Howlin’ good! BeerdedDave (1707) - Beckley, USA - SEP 14, 2016
nice clear, amber color; piney, citrusy hop aroma; piney, citrusy hops on a bready, rye malt base; not overly hoppy; well balanced Cajun (534) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - JUL 15, 2016

April 30th, 2014 - Foamy, with a reddish-color, I can convince myself that this beer even looks rugged and feral, though the wolf licking his chops on the label is a helpful aide. The aroma is very rusty and steely, with a heavy addition of yeast providing some subtler esters. The aroma is also perfumed with the scent of cotton candy, giving off a very sweet bouquet, and suggesting a cloying sweetness once I dip into the taste. And indeed, it is a little too sweet, but not catastrophically so. There’s a touch of rye, a dash of artificial strawberry, and then some caramel and brown sugar, but overall I think it leans too much in the sugary direction, with a body that’s just a little to packed with bubbles. arminjewell (9664) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 17, 2015
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of rye, caramel, toffee, some aged hops, touch of pine, grass, touch of orange marmalade. Taste is a mix of grass, orange, hints of grapefruit into aged hops, caramel, some slight spice, touch of pine, finishing bitter, dry.

Pours a clear golden with a well-retaining white head. Bubble gum on the nose. Medium body. Faint flavors of that bubble gum. BrewBoxer (2636) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 30, 2014

Poured from a 12 oz bottle with a July, 2014 best by date. Aroma is fairly happy with grapefruit, pine resin and some woody dank notes. Light floral character. Medium light caramel notes with some spicy rye character. Pours a clear, golden copper color with a fairly large, fairly thick, slightly off white head that displays good retention. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with moderate caramel and rye bread notes with some lighter cracker and baked bread character. Medium high bitterness with moderate hop flavor. Hop flavor is dank and woody with some lighter floral and grapefruit notes. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a light stickiness and moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright rye IPA but far from anything special. Lots of rye character, but I am not sure it was the right hop blend for the malt.
