The aroma of this beer seemed to be some kind of fruit, maybe cherry. It has a good taste. Overall a good beer and enjoyable to drink. Would have again. seymour (2045) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - OCT 24, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2015 Tasted from 12oz brown bottle into a nonic pint glass, part of the 2013 fall seasonal mix-pack. It poured a clear, deep reddish brown colour with thin but long-lasting beige foam, even a little lace. Pleasing appearance. I love Mild Ale and this possesses most of the true-to-style characteristics: a nicely balanced malt-sweetness to marmalade-y hops bitterness, bready, toasty, biscuity, nutty, caramelly, faintly fruity. Light body, average carbonation, malty aftertaste. Smooth at first but less so as it warmed, sadly. I love candy-sweet English crystal malts, this had some of the distincly burnt grain/soy sauce aspects of US crystal malt, but that’s a minor quibble. I’d definitely buy 6-packs of this regularly, if only they offered it. dwcash159 (8) - Bedford, Texas, USA - AUG 5, 2013 does not count
This Sam Adams follows the usual path of quality and great beer. I found the taste of this beer to be very light and pleasant to drink. The beer had a balanced and light head. The bitterness of the brew was a bit fruity which highlighted the grains. This is a great beer to enjoy on an warm afternoon. I’d recommend pairing it with a nice steak and potatoes. kirk36 (223) - Peabody, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 14, 2013
I enjoy this beer. Great malt forward stable true to the original taste and feel. One of six different fall beers in the 2013 Harvest 12 pack. I would purchase as an everyday drinker.

Tastes almost like an Irish Red but with a bit more malt to it. Good almost-sweet flavor nicely balanced out in the end.

Good lasting head. Leaves streaking and clumpy lace. Clear, dirty copper.
Quite mild in aroma. Caramel but dry smell. No notable hop to the nose.
The caramel tastes darker than the smell, almost treacle-like. Surprising hop bitterness. Decent body, low carbonation. junon (430) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - AUG 15, 2013
Beautiful beer. Beautiful style. This is a perfect example of a beer that is packed full of flavour, aroma, and colour while not having to be a hop bomb or high in alcohol. Dark ameber/ruby red. Sweet intro and a smooth finish. Sam Adams have been impressing me with their seasonals. chickenflea (351) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Pours a clear, amber body with an inch of light beige suds. Heads steadily settles, leaving a thin ring and some flecks of lace here and there.
Smells like toasted bread with a slight fruitiness, maybe cherry.
Malty sweetness with a hint of bitterness at all. Perhaps a slightly sour finish, but mostly clean with an herbal "flatness."
Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Watery soft mouthfeel.
Similar is some ways to the Boston Lager, but richer. A nice beer. Balance, drinkable while remaining rather full-bodied. TheBeerGod (6216) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - SEP 22, 2013
Bottle. Copper with a tall, frothy tan head. Strong caramel and sweet malt in the nose along with toffee notes, soft fruit and floral hops. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, floral hops, dark bready notes, soft fruit and toffee. Light earthiness as well. Body is medium with a moderate, creamy carbonation. Ends with more caramel, toffee notes, hints of dark fruit, earthy notes, sweet malt dark bread and light floral notes. Surprisingly tasty! poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - OCT 25, 2013
12 oz bottle from the Fall Variety Pack. Aroma is toasted marshmallow, fruity esters, bread. Pours a pretty clear amber with a one finger off-white head that collapses after a minute. Nice sweet malty flavors, roasty. Highly carbonated with a creamy mouthfeel and medium body. I don’t have a lot of experience with this style, but it tastes good to me.
